That sounds like a great idea!
Re: Corellian going Mando.
Well, welcome!
Secondly: I like the idea, as long as you make the weapon look like it isn't from Earth. That can ruin the illusion so to speak.
Maneuverability is pretty simple in a mando costume, except for the chest armor. So maybe you might modify the chest to make it better to move around in?
Good luck
Re: Corellian going Mando.
Not that i pull serious weight here, but i would suggest something similar to what is seen in Open Seasons, particularly with the character Montross.
It would be:
-a suit with exposed arms starting a little above the elbow
-leather belt, with pouches at sides, clearing the center of the waistline (a la ESB)
-shoulder, chest, thigh, shin, and back armor
- Crushguants in the place of gauntlets.(in open seasons montross wore wraps over his hands this might be a good detail to put underneath the crushgauntlets)
-Pants with side pockets
-and tall boots maybe with optional foot armor or something that would appear akin to "beskar toed" boots :)
Not entirely, montross' design, but similar to what i'm thinking.
as for shotgun maybe something similar to the already established "shotgun" equivalent for star wars

again just recommendations.
good luck, ner vod.:thumbsup
Re: Corellian going Mando.
If your going for close combat, I would suggest a lighter armor suit...almost like Boba with no leg armor. This will give the impression that your maneuverable and value being able to throw kicks, footwork etc.
Maybe also put some spikes or talons on your boots. I use both on mine:

Crushgauntlets are a nice touch, also you could get some custom bladed gauntlets using sintra. Here are Valcar's retractable bladed gauntlets he made:

And the WIP post for them if you want to see how they were made:

Re: Corellian going Mando.
I've thought heavily on making my chest armor akin something to what Cade Skywalker wears, but my friend is highly suggesting I should do something for armor on my arms.
And I like that ACP gun. That would be perfect. My idea is to modify an air soft gun, which is also my plan for my Corran Horn costume's side arm.
I like the idea for the spiked gauntlets, which would back up my crush gauntlets very well. Thanks for the tips.

I just said to do a LIGHT armor on your arms. Nothing heavy. Just something more decorative than anything. I'll show you what I'm talking about when I come out to Reno this weekend. I'm just saying, there's two types of close combat.
Martial Artists and Brawlers. At least that's how I see it.
Boxers are the straight throw punches and take punches. So, more protection for them makes sense.
Martial artists are fast and wiry. So, they need less armor. Just in my opinion, if you're going to be showing off your arms because of your biceps, then you're making a statement about your strength. crushgauntlets are not a martial artist's weapons. They're more for wrestling, I would assume. So, that makes me think you're a brawler. So, having arm protection would make sense since you're going to be blocking alot.
Just my thoughts.
