Canderous Ordo Armor (Mandalore the Preserver) WIP

Hi, I'm a new memeber and I have conventions coming up in the spring that I want to make Canderous armor for. My friend will be going as Canderous and I qill be going as Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos. I could really use your help trying to make this costume. Like I have no idea how much this is costing you. Are we getting in over our heads here? Whats the cost? the man hours? what kind of materials are you using. I would love your help, but I understand if you don't want to share your techniques! Any help would be appreciate

Hi !
I didn't come here for a long time ^^"
This project waits until I have more place to make the armor...

In fact I use cardboard, fiberglass to make it harder, stronger...
For the boots, I use bike boots, the same for the gloves.
The helmet was made by one of my friends with paper and cardboard with wallpaper glue.

I began this project 3 years ago... and I have to wait again because of the need of place to make fiberglass on cardboard (it smells a lot in a living room and it's a little bit toxic!! xD)
At this time, it cost about $200 but I have to re-build the armor.

Don't forget that it's very difficult to be the most accurate possible as this character is taken from a video game. You've to watch a lot of screenshots.

Feel free to email me if you want some other informations ;)

Steve

PS : I hope I'll continue it very soon (I think if I do it, it will not take me a lot of time ^^')

I know nothing about working with Fiberglass. Like I can imagine building the frame of everything with cardboard that sounds simple enough. I just don't know jack about applying fiberglass.

Well, I don't know how to answer you in a good language (I'm French)... You have to use resin and a sheet of fiberglass. Put the resin on the armor pieces, then put the fiberglass on it, (it must "drink" the resin), and finally, put resin on it again after a little while.
You should read a lot of threads in this forums : some people can answer your question about fiberglass better than me ^^

Hello every one !
Guess what ?

Canderous project is back !
I'm re-building all pieces of the armor thanks to someone who put this pic :

I'll use a techique using paper and a special mixture of wood glue and wallpaper glue. A friend of mine made helmets with it and it's very strong. Putting some Bondo on it make it perfect ;)

So my plan is to begin making the paterns where I'll put the paper and glue when all the pieces will be ready in order to win a lot of time :)
My first piece is the chest plate :

I began the back plate too. Pics will come tomorrow or in a few days.
I think this time it will render great ^^"

Hi all !
Today's update : shoulder bells :D
I made them from a cornflakes box, armors change our eating way XD

Next step ?
The shin guards thanks to a pepakura file

Steve the references pics show a very detailed undersuit, I think just airbrush will not be enough, I think your best way is sew some strips foam inside and then paint with airbrush, may be turn a little warm but looks like the only accurate way.

This is absolutley awesome!

Thanks you very much :)

Yep, that's what i'm thinking too now ^^

Well, no new part today : I hardered the tights and re-built the shins as the pepakura do not look like that I wanted ^^
I'm working on the forearms. I think I'll post new pics tomorrow.

Hi every one !
I couldn't work on canderous this week : I had an event with my tk armor and now, I have to repair it a little ^^

Updates as soon as possible ;)
