That helmet is looking really neat!
That helmet is looking really neat!
sorry about the lack of updates for those following this, but i have just finished most of my vest, and run into a snag;
My backplate wont actually fit my back. If i try to squeeze it in sideways, the top pops out, and vice versa. I'm at a loss of what to do, but am thinking of leaving it off entirely?
It's a Wickedbeard kit going on a loanstar vest, no problems with the front vest armour, as soon as i tried the backplate it all went south.
Suggestions anyone? I might be wrong but i'm pretty sure i'm the only one to have put WB stuff with LS, so it may or may not want to work.
(looking at you on this one big W)
Do you mean it comes off the vest? If so, just put some screws through the top of it and the collar armor, then put nuts in some armor blocks to screw down on it. Thats what I did and it works great.
i apologise for the delay, but our camera has gone wayward, so here are the pics i managed to get off my phone, please excuse the atrocious quality.
honest feedback is welcome, alot of the soft parts, including belt are not final, they were just scrounged from what i had lying around to make sure everything stayed on. Due to the backplate refusing to fit, i have until further notice decided to leave it off. I will be wearing a full length cloak so i don't suppose it matters...
Anywho, pictures are below, feedback both god and bad welcome
I really like that look.Very streamlined and clutter free.Kind of a mandalorian blade.lol
Love the sword as well.I really need to get me one of those.
Can you post a pic of the backplate being held onto your vest while your wearing it? If I can get a good look at it, then I may be able to give you some options.
That is precisely the way that armor needs to fit on someone.
here is a link to the wikipedia entry on my character, still a work in progress, but most of the back story is here.
enjoy (i hope)
Looks awesome Matt! When does the helmet fitting take place you think?
Oh and reading the mercipedia entry on ya now :-)
Is that the 'blade' sword?
Or did you make the grip from somethign else?
Looks pretty cool all in all.
It's not the blade sword, but similar. Check out the united cutlery "samurai 3000" range that they did, very cool stuff that can easily look like it belongs in the SW universe
So you found the ninja, awesome. Gonna need to get the Samurai for myself and have a duel
Sorry I haven't been on messenger for a long while. Just got a job and I'm rushing a big school project.
hey Toragh, no worries on that one!
School and job come first The Katana version of my sword curves at the tip and would put me down pretty quick, lol. good luck with everything, and hopefully ill hear from you soon!
Update time, i finally got my Gauntlets! Special thanks to Tubachris for arranging the postage for me. i have moved the collar up abit as per your advice on that everyone, and am experimenting with using a sam browne belt as my primary with sword hanging support. The shoulders were way too big for me so i just decided to get rid of them, am working on replacement armour as we speak advice and comments are welcome as usual, here is the link to the newer photos:
Definitely one of the more creative paint jobs I've seen lately!
That's truly awesome. Great pictures!
lol I wore those! At least tried, leather was stiff! Look great man!
Those are some intresting gauntlets you picked out. They remind me of someting out of LOTR. Were they custom built?
Wow, back from the dead here...
I'm not sure if anyone is even interested in this thread anymore, but i thought i would share some photos of my finished Mando, Ason Ral'Ka, in MK I form. Obviously there will be changes, as demonstrated by Hydras drawing, but that is a good while off yet, i'd like to get some use out of this set.
Armour done by Wickedbeard, including shoulders. Helmet cast as one-off Metal sculpt by our good friend Hand-Shaub, the rest i pieces together myself. Primary weapons were mnissing, so ijust grabbed whatever my mate had lying around (props to you brad for your help today!)
Excellent job Ason!! Looks fan-bloody-tastic!
