Armor design

sintra can become brittle and shatter or break. and yellow. HIPS as well.

use the 2pc jango adult helmet for now until you can save up for a MSH or simlar.

as for the chest plates. check out my SHADO build thread where it goes into great detail on makign female plates. has the t-shirt way of making plates. can use this for plastic as well as metal or leather plates.

Yeah, you have to be careful not to over heat the sinta and cause the inside to crystalize and become brittle and shatter. Use an oven to heat the plates evenly, and DO NOT let them over heat. :wacko

"For female armor, Mercs has a whole section for us. :cheers Take a look around and see what other ladies are doing to solve the chest armor predicament" :p

Check out Hydra's finished armor for ideas (she has 2 versions). Her snow Mando is a perfect example of what you are looking for.

The concept looks really cool!!!
The poncho is an idea I've also used to get a more western look to the costume.
I did make a collar and backplat that go above the poncho even and I'm glade I did. You don't see much of them, but the bits you do see... finish it.

I like the femin look you've given the suit, it should really look cool but still graceful like this. Although I think the Boba Fett helmet is too.... robust and squared out for a feminen costume and with most female mando's I think the helmet doesn't come out very convincing. I think it also depends on how tall you are, If you height is not above 1m70 I would go for a small Rubies Jango bucket or something.

for the poncho check here:

Hey everyone!

Sorry about my sudden silence I had to move suddenly to a new apartment in the middle of my college semester so I got really backed up classes wise and had to buckle down on that to catch back up. I didn't fall off the face of the planet! And I am still working on the armor! I actually picked up a crud-ton of cardboard to do a mock up for the suit so I hope to work on that this weekend and give you all an idea of the sizes of the plates and the shapes. Thanks for all the additional advice, the stuff on the sintra will certainly come in handy :).

I still want to use the plastics for the suit and I was searching for decently priced helmets on Ebay earlier today. Feels good to be able to bring my attention back on the suit as I'm hoping to get it done before Halloween *cough*hopefully*cough*... prolly not gonna happen though... makes me a sad panda but I still want to try.

So! I hope to have pictures up at the end of this weekend of the chest pieces at the least. Much love to you all and sorry again for the vanishing act, I honestly had no idea whether I was going to be moving or not to this new place so I was totally thrown off and there were a few things going on outside of that, that pulled my attention away from this project. Along with that and school I just lost my marbles and couldn't focus on the costume. So all is well now and I'm ready to get back to work!

great design! love the bandages and i like the offset arm bandages. makes it look more authentic as if to cover wounds. cant wait to see the back sketches! also i love the stomach bandages. i would just sew the bandages together like a corset with a hidden zipper maybe, so that the stay stretched and tight and if sewn then you dont have to worry about re adjusting them.
