Well guys, you got me hooked. Whilst my number one costume will always be Boba, i couldn't resist having a stab at a custom. I want to add some detail to the dome but don't know what. any idea's? kill stripes, symbols or unit badges??? give me some feed back guys

ooooh I like the colors :).
As for decals, something I think always looks really cool adding your own symbols to it. Sort of like the handprints and things that I've seen on other helmets.
Looks like a sports teams color. Haha, looks nice man. I think you should add a dent to it. Not the dent like boba fetts, but a Dent on one of the cheeks, or the back.
IMO that would look best.
Handprints, text in Aurabesh or Mandalorian font, kill stripes, claw scratches, random dents.
Its always interesting to see what people add to their buckets, so just go hog wild and make it interesting !

Ronin that is way cool! I hear ya on the Boba being #1. I plan on making my ESB Boba, then a bikerscout, then a custom mando :) I'm loving the color scheme you have going on! You got any design pics of what the rest is going to look like? :D

Also, I like the killstripes on the Fett helmets. I also like it when mandos put the mythosaur skull on the forehead. It looks wicked!

I like those colors! That burnt orange color is really nice.
looks good! i'd stay away from dents though. fett wore rubbish armor made of durasteel. most mando'ade wear beskar and beskar doesnt dent.
go with kill stripes, jaig eyes, mando'a runes or something along those lines. dont be afraid to do stuff like fins, spikes, horns whatever tickles your fancy!

My thoughts exactly :) The nearest I have gone is a gouge on the left hand side of the dome (I always liked the prepro Fett, so this is like honouring that :lol )
I think i will either go for angled kill stripes similar to the Shadow's made by Jax, or go for bunny ears
I am thinking about having these stencilled on the dome over the left ear piece

Well i finally went with this. I 'borrowed' the stripes from Shadow and Jax (sorry guys but these just looked too great)
I still have to add a little weathering and paint up the r/h ear cap etc (there is a little over spill at that point anyway.

Dents are IMO fine and dandy. It gives it more character than no dents.

I just had to come look at it again. I love that yellow colour you chose, it looks like Up Armour Yellow misted with Yellow Zinc Chromate. I just painted my Fett knees and shoulders in that colour, but yours looks fantastic! I love how you incorporated the red stripes above the brow, it really gives the helmet that much needed character that many customs lack.
I like it too It looks really good. I hope when I finally get a helmet it'll look that good.
