2nd set of trash can armor

Okay, I got most of the work done on my first set of hard parts for first set of armor, just need soft parts to attach to, but lost job 2 days a go, and been hunting, but I took today to relax because I know I'll find a new job next week (even if I have to cut grass

)

So here's a few pics of the hard part of my first and second armor.

I am thinking of snow cammo for the silver colored armor, with black or urban cammo BDU pants and black leather vest, or just go

all together.

Let me know what you think.

Oh yeah, those are shoulder bells in the pic's of black armor, not thigh armor

for $13 it ain't bad, and I think I paid $7 for the small can which I used for the shoulder bells.

Just gotta make two back plates, and some shin armor and gauntlets............. the wife just went out to the movies with her sisters, so I got a little time to play right now, hopefully I'll have updates in the AM.

it's one of those nerf things, I pulled the cocking mechanism back, cut it off then shot it so it would go inside and not be sticking out.

I just finished cutting out my 9 year old's armor and painted it copper, I'll post a pic in a little while.

edit added pics:

I cut this kit out in like 2 1/2 hours (wife told me, I thought I was out side for like an hour)

next is to make 2 of the 3'6" for my twin boys.

the 2 cans made 2 large and 1 4' 6" and I still have room to cut out other stuff.

My oldest wants a red themed set of armor, so I decided to go with the copper base and will go to the store to get a nice metallic blood red and black so his armor will kick shebs

well, i painted the silver set glossy white, BUT get this, I put a nice coat of color-change paint over the white before i put on 2 layers of clear, it looks soooo cool, I'm not sure if Snow Mando or a ghost of a fallen Mando, so everything will be white, even the soft parts. i'll post a pic in a few minutes.

I forgot, i think i got it from autozone, it's alcohol based (like hair spray) it's ment to be temporary, but i put onto the white after it flashed for a few minutes. then I had a portable space heater blowing on it as I sprayed the color tint so it wouldn't make the white crack and run, then after 5 minutes under the heater, I hit it with clear 2 times, I hope to wet sand then another couple of layers of clear for smoooooothnes.

Ok I just looked at the can, it's from Black Magic (car care) it's called color tint multi color.

obviously i'm bored, right now I'm watching a lecture on the spinal cord, so I just go into the garage and paint it up then come back to the lecture

I still gotta get off my shebs and look for a job.

As for the laser whip, I think I can use a pvc pipe (like the saber spear I made) and get myself several EL wires about 48" long and braid them together.

As for more pictures of the armor, I hope to have some sun shine to show the color change effect, but the good thing is the white is still perfectly unchanged.

lol... nah, I'm a nurse by trade, but only an lvn/lpn need to get my bachelors so I can make a little more $ since my mortgage is like $3400, but my take home WAS like $2400, it's good that my parents are helping with the difference that the wife can't make up.

So as for the lecture i'm watchin' its on dvd so I can take CLEP Excelsior and Dante's tests to test out of college classes w/o actually goin' back to college.

Tomorrow is job hunt day again. I'll be optimistic (for a change)

here's the best i can do to show the color shift.

remember that each of the dark spots on the armor is actually reflective and changes color, but is at random angles, the real life effect is really cool.

I know a place that I should be able to get a job, but it's like 25 miles away. If I don't have any inteviews by Friday, I guess I gotta go 4 it.

Back to the armor, yeah, I thought the hardware was gonna be the hardest, but software is the hard part. Gotta pay someone else to do some of the work (vest) but then it feels like ya know I didn't do it myself, sheesh, oh well, maybe I'll go to wal*mart and get some fabric to do a vest, my sister-in-law has a sewing machine, maybe she'll show me how to do it.

Hehe I'm also obsessed with doing it myself.

Follow the patterns and you should be okay. And make sure you practice if you've never used a sewing machine.

lol ill post some pics of just the vest,the vest itself doesnt get to hot,its everything else lmao, the fabric is light weight so thats a plus,the velcro is sewed onto it and it holds the plates really nice but if you ever go metal (like i plan) it probably be best to invest something else.

changed it a little. I think I can do it by making the start of a normal bucket, but instead of finishing the back, leave it open and make a wrap around, just gotta make the start of the bucket first. I hope it looks good in real life.

It's gonna have a wide flair around the bottom, and I hope to have 'fangs' for the mandables.

well I guess my curves would be kicking too

and yeah I am kind of fat, thats what the girth belts, ammo belts etc are for

Yeah, my tax return is due in monday, so I can buy my girth belts and fabric for the vests, and I can get some BDU's, I can finaly kick it into overdrive.

I got a lead, I should have the bounty in my sights on Monday or Tuesday (got an interview/drug test at MY convenience). I'll post my results for the hunt when I get em.

I finished cutting the brest plates and belly plates for my twin 5 yr boys, and painted them purple/green and silver/green color change.

I'll post pics tomorrow when I get the rest cut out and painted.

Ok, got most of the twins stuff cut and painted (ran out of black paint so cant finish) Just need to make chest diamonds and shoulder bells. Decided all of us are gonna have capes, part of the clan calling card. Wow, 5 sets of armor, and only 1 bucket so far....... hmmm I guess I gotta get to work on some more buckets (starting with my custom)..

Also, as I was cutting the collar pieces for the small set's, I got a huge blob of melted PVC plastic on my hand and burned my palm, so if anyone is gonna do this with the trash cans, and cut with a dremmel, use gloves and eye protection, I'm a nurse, I should know better, but hey scars of love baby, scars of love.

Even if it is a One way love, ya know, Tears may fall. <- 80's music, I must be breathing too much paint fumes

Nope, but I am in San Diego, look up Exploration Falls Dr. 91915 on Google maps, my house is like a block off of it, and you can see the mountain about a mile east of me... It refelcts a heck of a lot of heat in the summer, man today was actually hot enough to open all the windows, maybe I should stop spraying all that paint into the ozone layer

Small update, got an interview tomorrow, so hopefully will have a new job by tomorrow night.

As for the armor, I repainted the kids armor, I will post pics tomorrow night.

The silver/green is much better, and shiney. I changed the purple/green to red/blue instead since I have enough paint to do the buckets in both of those colors.

As for my older son's red, I got green/copper which mostly looks like a really dark red.

Any way will post pics tomorrow.

My bounty is being watched by an informant on the inside, I will hopefully move in for the capture in a day or two... I have however found a second and third bounty, 1 of them I can take anytime, the other I will be waiting about a week for info.... But the first bounty is the one I need, the second will pay good, but will need my skills to be placed in different situations daily, as for the 3rd, I need more info for my skill set.

In other words, I have 1 job that I can take anytime, but it is a registry so I would have to go from hospital to hospital, and be placed in situations that I may not be ready for, the 3rd is a home health nurse... I have never done home health, but they will do some training and then meet and greet with the patient/family, so it may be cool, but wont know til next week.. as for the one I want, it's in a behavioral health (psych) setting, and I know someone who works there, and I think it would be better to have a single place to work.

As for the armor, thanks for the compliment vod, I plan on sneeking to the postoffice tomorrow to get more envelopes to start the custom bucket. And I got an email saying that my girth belt has shipped... I went with 'natural' for the color since I am not going with any brown in my armor.

well, I started my second bucket, I plan on extending and flairing the back and sides, and I may extend the 'fangs' from the visor down about an inch. I want to leave the cheek bones the way they are supposed to be, but put the curving flair over it, leaving a slight hollow area, I cant describe it accurately, I hope you guys will understand when I actually do it... Right now I cannot find my Cheek bone templates so gotta go print YET ANOTHER set.

Everytime I use this darn Dell, it loads pages sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooo
slow, and I use my aspire one or macbook next to this POS they both access the web faster? Dell puts so much poodoo on their computers, even if I uninstall what I can see, it's not good enough, and I forgot to do a fresh install on vista before I started to use it for my iPhone.

yeah, my aspire one is faster than this Dell, and it has an atom 1.6, the Dell has a dual core 1.8 (still slow, but minimum I could afford with Blu-ray capability). When I come to TDH the pages take so long to load, but on the Aspire one and on my MacBook they load instantly.

Anywho I gotta take my anatomy & physiology test tomorrow, then I think I can start my Gauntlets.

I may make the Cod pieces anyway, though I dont like them.

Cut the amount of post per page down and it will load fast...you'll have to cycle through more pages(

), but it loads way faster(
