2nd set of trash can armor

I didn't click the last one and there is no way I'm clicking this one.

I love the picks though. The helmet looks great even without the fangs. Question: are you going to cut the vertical part of the visor the rest of the way out or leave things the way the are?

gonna cut it all the way down, but I was thinking of leaving a little bit of the bottom in the middle, but maybe make it with vertical slits or something.

Slits would be cool, you thinking of making those slits look like teeth/fangs or just have the visor end then slits?

Also I have a couple technical questions for the whole gang: Having never worn a Mando helmet before I've always wondered how much the vertical part of the T was for look and how much practical. I figure that it can't really help your field of vision much (right?) and thus had figured that it held sensor equipment of some sort? Second, leaving a bit of helmet at the bottom would have to help with the overall sturdiness of helmet is that a good idea to keep in mind for when i build my own? I'm wondering about how strong/durable a helemt can be. I figure it have a lot to do with how you make it out of what, but thought I'd ask you experienced peoples.

Thanks, vode!

The lower part (the bottom of the T) is almost worthless unless you are walking around a bunch of small kids (then it somewhat useful) It must have something in it (sensors sound nice!!! along with 360 wrap around...) And leaving a bit at the bottom would probally help a little, depending on how much you left. As far as stregnth of a helmet, i have seen a few that you can stand on. so you can make em pretty tough, depending on what material you use and how well it is made. :D

Hope this helps somewhat!
:cheers

If you want structural rigidity, you could leave an 1/8" along the bottom of the visor that connects the mandables, but be sure it's fiberglass, not bondo or it'll crack off.

Ah Yeah, a patient got a little frustrated tonight...

He threw a right hook ;)

It was at 10:40, we were finishing up our charting, and he was frustrated that he slept through the last smoke break, and snacks, we cant break the rules, because the structure is what keeps things in order, he escilated, ran to the glass and punched, he actually broke the chicken wire inside the glass.
The good thing is he was really sorry he did it so we didn't have to take him down, I was just worried that he may have broken his hand, forget all the bleeding, I had to send him to our main hospital ER, I wont know if he broke it until I go back to work on Monday. I hope he didn't break it, he's a nice guy.

Thats crazy! Must of been one heck of a punch. Man, does the guy pitch in baseball or somthing? It seems that you must have one strong punch to even break the chicken wire! Hope the guys ok!

yup, well when the mind is a little distorted, they seem to be able to hit a LOT harder.

Hey, I like your bucket, I hope you paint it like your avatar ;) , it'll kick major shebs!
The yellow parts can be 'add on' parts attached to the standard bucket, just like the bottom of your visor/mandibles.

Oh no I had to do it again?!?!

I am working on the bucket, I'll post a pic in a few. I've only just bondo'd the fangs on. I hope they stay put because I didn't use glass this time.

okay, i decided to put some fabric like a kama around the back of the bucket. I ordered some white pleather. When it gets here, I will definatley get to it.

That's a pretty impressive punch even for a mentally challenged person. My understanding is that the average halfway-in-shape person literally has the strength to move so fast and hit so hard that they would destroy themselves if there wasn't a built in, subconscious "check valve" that keeps us from doing that. During times of duress the adrenal gland kicks in and the check valve is dialed back a bit allow us do things that are truly amazing. I think the reason that mentally handicapped/damaged people can hit so hard is that often the "check valve is faulty and/or they mistakenly think they are in duress.

Correct?

No fiber glass on the fangs?

The "hood" on the back is an interesting idea; i can't wait to see it.
