One could be for posts, one for no new posts.
 
I like the mythosaur skull idea. I did like the Slave 1 too... but I gotta say, those red boxes gave me a bit of a start when I signed on and saw them the first time. I thought I had gone to the wrong site or maybe somethin' nasty was going on or something. LOL

The boxes aren't permanent, especially since no one seems to like them. We made the change because several people had mentioned that the Slave 1 icons were difficult to distinguish between new posts and no new posts. We wanted to implement something that was a bit easier to see. While the "big red boxes" are easier to see, they clearly aren't the most popular style so we will keep searching.

In regard to other changes to the board, we have a number of customizations to the board that were uninstalled during our efforts to restore our email notification system. Those customization have not been reinstalled and there is a possibility they will not be reinstalled.

As always, we are constantly making efforts to improve your experience here at TDH. Some days it is two steps forward, some days it is one step back. Thanks for your patience on the days when it is one step back.

:lol: ok so maybe that's a bit too subtle.

What about a mando skull for no new posts, with it being on fire for new posts? Easy to distinguish, easy to remember which is which.
 
Personally, I don't mind the change. I didn't quite like the TDH revamp, but after a week of the new colours and look, it grew on me and I didn't even remember what the old site looked like. Until someone said that Slave 1 was missing, I couldn't even remember what was there or not, I just knew something was different.
 
I'd like to complain about people who hold things up by complaining about people complaining. It's about time something was done about it!

(With apologies to Monty Python :lol:)
