bump bump bump. come on guys, show your support. Jon's going out of his way to organize a TDH dinner for us.

I'll be there Fri, Sat, and leaving Sunday. I'll be in Jango, my friend will be wearing my TK suit, if he goes. Staying at the Marriot.

Hmm, not sure the title of this thread is explanatory enough (plus you can't see the whole thing on the page). I am going to create a new thread and I will put your info there. See if we can get more people to sign up.

I will be there for the whole weekend. Going either Saturday or Sunday.

Friday is still up in the air.

I am thinking of doing Fett on Saturday, and Sunday will be the debute of a new costume (actually, Saturday night at the Masquerade.) I'm doing a TimeCop/TEC Agent.

I'm gonna need a little help suiting up Fri-Sun, can anyone help who is staying at the Marriot??

I'll be at the Con, but my Fett costume won't be done in time. But always interested to meet other TDH members and show my TDH support , whatever set up for meets will be workable for me.
I'll be either in my TK or Maul once that is approved into the 501st.

Okay, one more thing...

No promises here, but I do some video production in the Bay Area and have a green screen set up at my office. I may be able to break this down and get it to Wondercon on Sunday if anyone is interested in being photographed in costume. I will have to try to get some help to get the lights there and need to find a place to do the shots. Wish that Brak's was going to be there to help (I am not the greatest photographer in the world), but he is tied up.

Anyway, if there is some interest I will do what I can to help out and get some shots of folks. Greenscreen is not big enough for a group shot, but I can get two or maybe three in at a time I think. We can drop in some backgrounds afterward for you. I have a friend who won some awards for his pics, so I may be able to get him to help.

Ah yes, the Masquerade! Well, how about if we do dinner at 6pm? Will that work for everyone? I will put it down for now unless I hear from a lot of folks that it will not work for them.

Costume event with prizes. Costume needs to be almost entirely scratch built though, very few purchased parts - they are pretty picky about this usually. A Boba Fett costume might make it in (my son's did) but a TK suit probably would not. They almost never accept Vader they told me - unless the helmet is fully a scratch build.

Anyway, they have a judged show on Saturday night. It's about 50% costume and about 50% performance (what you do while in the costume).

Usually it gets booked up early, at least at SDCC. Not so sure about WonderCon and the participation.

TDH will be sponsoring an award for this at SDCC.

Fett's easy, he just has to stand there and look cool!!!!!!! 8) contest over!

I will be at wondercon Sat. during the day but I have a 501st event to do for the Cub Scouts Birthday at 6:00pm and the theme is "Star Wars" so I unfortunatly won't be there for dinner. However I'd love to buy you guys a beer during the day if you would like.

Sorry to hear that your friend won't be making the Con Jango 5204, I'm pretty much in the same boat. not to worry though, we'll help each other out. I think the list is small because people are undecided as to go or not but I think their will be more people added to the list as we get closer to the date. looking forward to meeting everyone, this is going to be a blast none the less. a friend of mine went last year and he said it was a lot of fun.

Sadly I won't be able to make the dinner. I'll be suiting up and getting ready for the Masquerade. It'll be the official debute of my TEC/TimeCop agent costume.

the Masquerade is at 8pm, Jon is planning dinner @ 6pm.

They need people there early to get things going. I'm sure if I really pushed, I could possibly make it... but I don't really want to cut it that close to the mark.

Yeah, having done one of these I will say they do like you there really early (I think we started at about 3pm). Tell you what, let me figure out someplace close to the Con this weekend. Once I know how far it is you can decide if you want to swing by for a beer with the group.

K, how does Chevy's sound to everyone? Trying to find something inexpensive and close. There are definitely some hipper places in the area but they start costing, and I know some of us are on a budget. If that works then I will get us a table.

is that in walking distance from the convention center Jon? I will need to stay suited up for this ( a place with a bar with tall barstools, even better )

Chevy's is about a block or so away from the Con. And yes, if I remember they do offer bar stools and taller tables.

I recall that there is a bar, so I would think there will be barstools. There are so few of us that we might want to even eat at the bar. It is right around the corner from the convention.

There is also a diner right there. Can't remember if they have bar seating. The Sony Metreon has food court, but you'd probably be swamped and would not have time to eat.

Just so you know... if you are in the masquerade you are not supposed to wear your costume prior to the event - and they can be pretty strict about this one. It's a lame rule IMHO but just wanted to let you knowthat it is, indeed, a rule.

Hey guys - I'll be at Wondercon this year as usual. Not sure about times and such but I'll be in a Cobra trooper costume form GI Joe (not even a Joe fan) but if you see me be sure to come and say hey! I hope to stop in for dinner but I'll probably come in and have a beer with you guys!

HS - I would be honored if you would stop by. I have one of your blasters that I got from another member, and have admired your work for some time. Meeting you would rank up there with meeting David Prowse. Ok, he was not so nice - so maybe even higher...

Hey B1, I will look there, but the few times I have been around that place it has been really jammed, so might be tough to get in, especially with a costume on.

Bump - Any more TDH folks coming to this? Any more sign ups for dinner or beer? We need 8 people to get a reservation at Chevy's. 4th Street Deli does not take any reservations so we may be waiting a long time if we go there. I am trying to make this easy and fast for everyone as I know some are going to the masquerade.

Well, it looks like Fett is out for me for the time being. I've had several issues with my ammo belt and this past weekend, it gave up the ghost and completely failed on my leaving me no other resort but to order a new (leather) belt.

I will still be at the Con, but sadly, Fett will not be there! Not until the ammo belt is fixed.

The belt keeps pulling away from the velcro. No matter what I do to try to reseolve it, it will not hold. At least I am getting a leather belt now, so the troubles will be over soon.

There's a few more things that I wanted to point out to all planning on going to WC. As it stands now, the forcast is calling for Rain over the weekend. Top it off, Saturday night @ 6:00pm is the Chinese New Years Parade! So bring your patience! I'm sure SF will be JAMMED PACKED with people for the con as well as the parade!!!

ALSO: Chris, is the adhesive lettting lose the velco from your body heat and "pulling pressure" on your belt? I have some polyurethane glue that will do the trick if that's the case. Let me know and I can drop it off at your house if you want.

I know the area and usually the parade is only a couple blocks away. According to "my" weather report it says the week-end is clear weatherwise Anyway, we can throw a few beers back and prowl the streets if you fellas are up to it that evening I know Jons good for a couple

It appears that is the deal. I have no idea how much more that belt can take. As much as I'd love to have it there with me, it just needs to be replaced. I should have bought a leather belt to start with.

I also have a few other areas that I need to work on (knee darts), and adding another belt to the jet pack for the "dive belt section."

ok, added two (maybe) and lost one. If we do not have enough people to get a reservation we may need to look at some alternatives. Hopefully we'll get a couple more.

We did not end up with enough folks to get a reservation, but they tell me at Chevy's that it probably will not be an issue. I was really hoping we could get one, that way those who were in a bit of a hurry would not have to worry about the wait. If anyone of you can drag a friend along let me know right away - I will be checking the board.

Anyway... I will be waiting inside the restaurant and will be wearing a black 501st sweatshirt. I have sent those of you who are on the list my cell number in case anything happens.
