TDH / RPF at Manchester
Hi Guys & Girls
I have been asked by Simon to get things going on this, we need people to sign up for the Prop Party at the Gmex in Manchester on the 21st of July, I need to know if you will be attending and what props you will be showing, I will be doing a thread for the NEC Prop Party in November alittle bit further down the line but if you are interested in doing that let me know, but for now I need definate people who want to attend this one in July, and as we had so much fun on the last one in Birmingham I know more people want to do it.
Bobatrooper / Snowtrooper - Jango Fett Display / AtAt Driver and Possible Snow Commander too and maybe a few helmets.
So let me know guys so I can get names and stuff to simon so we can have enough passes for the day for the people who are displaying.
Thanks
Bobatrooper

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
I'd love to come to this mate but Manchester is just to far for me. Good luck with it all, the last time was a fantastic event. I'll be at the brum one though :D
-
Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Nice one Welsh would be great to have you at the brum one mate hopefully for the two days if you can do it as I know me and our chris will be there, last time was such a great event and hopefully this next one will be even bigger but with the same great people from the last one and more.

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
To right mate. Ive been looking at hotels and such already so I can do a weekender. That was my only regret last time that I missed a full day of geeking out and the get together in the night lol. I'll have my full fett done then so i'll be wearing that on TDH stall.
-
Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Do a search for the Arden Hotel as that is the one we stayed in on the last one and its the one everyone will be staying in on this one too but I will confirm this with simon for the birmingham gig.

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Hi everyone
Time is coming along and I need people to let me know who is going to be coming along to the Manchester expo for the prop party with the rpf, I need to know names and also what your bringing to display as space is limited at this one as its smaller than memorabilia in Birmingham, so please let me know so I can sort out the arrangements with super trooper on the rpf ready in time for this event on 21st July, details will then go up for the Birmingham show in November.
Thanks
Boba trooper (dave)

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Sorry Dave to step in
Just a quick reminder this event is fast approaching and the event organisor is now getting on my case to submit names of those diplaying their Props and costumes, we will give this a another week or so and then the event will be closed down and it will be to late to attend as a free displaying guest
also one other thing
For the november event we really want to spread the word about a first for the UK, the biggest gathering of Boba Fett, Jango fett costumers at one event ......... please sign up for that also and spread the word for the ultimate Group Picture with Jeremy Bulloch
sorry Dave lol

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Np mate, lots of people looked at thread but no sign ups is this what the dented helmet has come too, no one wanting to sign up and do this one day for some fun and to meet other prop builders and see other peoples stuff, the last one we done in november was so much fun and everyone had a blast, this one and the one coming up in november will be even better so come on guy lets show them all what we are about on the dented helmet and bring on the fetts and hunters from all over, sign up now for this one day event and keep urselfs in mind for the november show.

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Come on guys this is a fantastic event, you really will enjoy it. My eyes were on stalks last time I went and to meet up with fellow fettheads is really something, you can actually talk to someone about a patterson squeegee and NOT get weird look lol.
Really wish I could attend this one fellas, but count me in for brum. All the best with it,

Ok, its just that the Event Owner only gives us enough free entry passes to those Displaying their props, and we have to submit those names, unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this.
We are given the Space to display for free for Prop Displayers only, hope you understand.:thumbsup

Thanks for the PM.
For the record i will write this statement once regarding the RPF and TDH's Involvements in attending events.
I have been entrusted by the owner of the RPF and TDH to take their Global reputation and name and promote it to the best of my ability around the UK and also into Europe.
While attending events the RPF and TDH are allowed to both display its brand and promote the Forums to the general public, and in certain circumstances those attending the events under the RPF and TDH banner are also allowed to promote and sell their own products.
The Events we attend are the High end of the Convention circuit in the UK and i am constantly networking and negotiating with Big Event companies in the UK, Ireland and Europe to take what we do on the road.
Now ask anyone who goes to an event in a buisness capacity what they are charged for the space they are given to display, sell or advertise at Conventions, the prices are astronomical.
I have managed to negotiate with these people and sell the idea of a Convention Prop Party to the point where we are given all the above for free .........
I am not interested in little prop Parties out the back of some little Boy Scout Club House, my plan is to help the RPF and TDH become a house hold name within the UK Convention circuit a regular feature, therefore i am not about to jepordise that by giving out free tickets to free loaders, infact the tickets i give out have to be accounted for as they are given to me by the event organisor.
Mistakes and Problems were abundant at the last prop party, namely free loaders........ the new rules are If you Display you get in to the event for free, and you monitor your own section, it is not an opportunity to set up your display and then disappear for the day on a jolly around the event, if this is found to be the case you get told to pack up and go home. Myself, the other members present, the RPF and TDH are not responsible for the Props on the display ....the prop maker is. The event as a whole is an added bonus and time is allocated to members to enjoy the Event.
The Rule of thumb for all those attending the UK RPF/TDH events is you let us know what your displaying and those displaying get free access to the event, if you want to come along as an RPF or TDH member to the event as a non displayer ...... you queue and pay the £5 entry fee like everyone else.

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
ok jake here is the info I have just received from simon on the RPF
OK Guys
Here is a Little update
What would a UK RPF event be if there were no problems and this event is full of them but its not for you guys to stress about thats my Job
I do not have any news regarding Parking passes at this point this along with the other problems that have occured will i assume be sorted on the day, thats if we get any at all.
Wrist Bands for those Members displaying will also be given out on the day.
I have never been to the venue before, therefore we will meet at 7.00am Sharp outside the venue by then i should have been given the details on where we go to unload and as before we will then all travel into the venue together to set up.
I like to promote unity at these events, we all help and look after each other rather than fighting over the best spots so please we are all RPF members together so lets help each other.
venue address
Manchester Central (the old gmex)
Petersfield
Manchester
M2 3GX
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU
Your Props
DO NOT TOUCH notices
Blue or Black table cloths
Food and drink
The Venue will be very busy saturday morning with lots of vendors setting up, there will be last minute hitches and problems out of my control
so please be patient with me on the day

As an event virgin I'd Like to thank all the guys from the TDH and RPF who made me feel very welcome , Had a great time and hopefully made some good new friends ! Again Thanks Guys and see you all at Birmingham ..... Jake:cheers

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Great Meeting you Jake, we got off on the wrong foot leading upto this event but im glad you came and im glad we had the chance to chat, i hope i went someway to explain how stressful but enjoyable organising these things can be....
Big Thanks to Dave and DCProps for all their help.............. Thanks Guys
As far as event reports and pictures go, im not actually prepared to share any to be honest. This is the second event i've put together for you guys to come along for FREE and meet like minded individuals and talk Props and all things TDH.
To have 3 members from the vast UK member base we have here is pretty shocking really, the TDH isn't just about displaying Fett Props its about showing unity and friendship and meeting fellow members, you dont have to come and just display your FETT stuff you can display anything in your replica Movie collections.
Im really disappointed to be honest i can't hide that fact, plenty of notice is given out to offer this great opportunity to attend some of the biggest shows in the UK
Im seriously thinking is it worth while including the TDH in future event invites ......... its your call
November is going to be a massive event for the RPF i want to achieve the biggest UK gathering of Fetts Boba and Jango for the Ultimate picture with Jeremy Bulloch
Are the uk Members of the TDH willing to step upto the plate and help with this ?/

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
Glad it was a good event mate, Saw the photos on FB and it looked fantastic.
With regards to the turnout, I really think the location played a big part of. With Bham its very central to most folks, literally half hour-hour drive. With Manchester, folks like me or people a similar distance away, who would love nothing more than to come, its just a little to far. It probably easier if your staying for the two days, but if your only up there for the day, to travel that far and back in the same day is going to be a killer. And the train isnt really an option with peoples suits.
I think if you have the next event in Bham, apposed to London as you mention on the RPF, you will get a much better response and turnout from people due to just the location. Plus its the event that started it all, which was fantastic. I think to have it there again for a second year will be great, folks loved the stall last time and I can see people coming again to specifically see the stall. Plus you got the Fett man himself there, which will bring in more fett heads.
You can count me in for Bham if it happens there again :D

Re: TDH / RPF at Manchester
I agree with Simon on this one guys it was a poor turnout from the TDH which should have been alot better but location is always a factor in these things and hopefully we will get a much better turnout at birmingham in november, I will put up details in a few weeks time as there is alot going on for Simon over the next month as he is getting married, so a Big Congratz to him and his girly Jackie (superfem of the femtrooper squad) there two of the nicest people you could ever meet and so much fun to be with, its always a pleasure to do the shows with them and all the other guys that done it including RS pros Si and Rob, Rich (fettster and his mate) jakefox as it was great to meet him and the other guys who had some amazing stuff, also a big shout to brian and lyndsey muir for being there as there such super people and great to talk to about his past movies and what he is working on now, also to clothears and the guys from germany and italy for coming over and to catfoodrob with his dalek and intero droid, was great to meet such nice people and had a great time with them all. Now onto the pics.
Till the next one in birmingham
Dave (DC props)
