Sidebar

Hello all. We are testing a couple of new things, including the removal of the Sidebar that we added at the beginning of vb 4.0 We want to test the site without it for a couple of weeks and see whether there is a page loading improvement or not.

I really liked the sidebar ...

We may bring it back... just trying to see if the sidebar was the cause of some of our slowdown issues.

I have not noticed any difference between the two yet as far as speed in loading pages but I will keep an eye on it.

Deadland, question for you. Do you consider this site to load slowly, because a lot of people have felt it loaded very slowly in the past.

Hey Art the one thing that I have noticed is that images are loading much faster in the thread sections as there was a bit of a lag in that before now they are fairly instant. the main pages themselves seem to load at the same rate. I am also using Chrome as my browser.

I'll dito what deadland said, I found myself giving up looking at images as they took to long to load, but I feel that they are much faster now. But I also find that it is slightly faster aswell transitioning through differnent sub forums and topics. Im using windows explorer 8.
