Just a quick question for the mods:
Is there something going on with updated posts?? It seems that when I have updated my own posts ,they do NOT show up in the list of New Posts. The do however, get updated in it's individual category, just not added to the NEW POSTS section. Am I doing something wrong?? Are my posts too old or something?? Just curious, thanks for your help!!

Yeah, what Scott said, same issue.
Perfect example: THIS thread is NOT showing up under the NEW POSTS area. Most people, including the MODS, won't see it unless they goto the "announcements" section.....

i don't see why they would... new posts is relative to your own viewing history. the board probably doesn't want to bother to alert you that you have updated something... presumably you already know
Good point, but as of a few days ago, they DID. Most people click the NEW POST tab only, and they wouldn't see if I updated shipping info and such. For whatever reason, there ARE older threads that ARE being updated and are showing up in NEW, by the author AND others. Interesting.............

Been happening for about a week now... you click new posts and get about 9 pages... first 3 are actually new post pages and the rest say "These posts haven't been updated but still contain unread posts".... never used to happen like that. I'm now having to go into my profile and find the option to mark all forums as read and then work on New Posts from there.... definitely something has happened
Any MOD's been able to look into this?? I have not had a single thread show up in the NEW THREADS section for a while now. By no coincidence(since most people only look at the new threads), I have NOT sold anyhting since either.

i can't duplicate the problem, so i don't know what to look at...
new posts is working fine on my computer (firefox/mac).
have you tried all of the standard "something on the internet isn't working right" stuff - delete cookies, clear browser cache, etc...
I know how difficult it is to figure out, when you CAN'T see the problem. I appreciate the effort though. Thanks!!

Here's my best example. After upgrading to the latest FIREFOX, I just updated this thread and clicked NEW POSTS. This THREAD did NOT show up in the NEW POSTS section as you see in the attached pic. It ONLY showed up in the ANNOUNCEMENTS section:
but that's an update you made. i saw it in new posts. i'm updating here, now... theoretically, this should show up to you as a new post, but i should not see it as such.
ok, confirmed for me at least... my own new posts do not show up as "new", but other peoples do.
this is the behaviour i'd expect from a forum. if it worked differently before, i would call that the broken state.
so, hopefully you will see my post as new, and at least we'll know we're on the same page.
I don't like how this is working with the upgraded system. "New Post" was real time, and included your own new threads and posted replies. It was good. I also miss the bar that was across the top of the page with direct links to the major sub categories:
Announcements Boba Fett Costume Cargo Hold ...and so on.
By the way, i may have missed a thread somewhere, when is the "Galleries" going to be back on line?

Yep, that's it. NEW will only show up for OTHERS and not yourself. It used work that way though, like you said. Thanks for digging in like you did, I really appreciate that.
I have to agree, I personally like the "old" way better. I'm one of the guys that generally clicks NEW POSTS only and liked seeing my own threads up there. Thanks though.

well, i suspect there's probably no going back. i know that when phpbb made the change, it wasn't configurable, it just is what it is.
i'm not as familiar with vbulletin, but i can't imagine they'd make that a per-user preference.
as for the gallery, "real soon now". probably within the week.

i noticed that on the new posts page there's a little divider line:
"The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts."
Anything below that is still "new", but hasn't been changed since the last time you were on the board.
Technology marches on!
