frank-n-son has made a triumphant return to eBay. Check out the gauntlets that he has up. I wonder if the buyer will actually receive them

Check out his feedback too, it hs miraculously become invisible, obviously he doesn't want people seeing certain comments!

I was the last buyer and I didn't receive mine but at least I got my money back. Ruffkin said mine will be sent this week. I SOOOO can't wait. I just need those. myshin tools (which are on the way supposedly), a girth belt, toe spikes and wookie braids. the I am DONE WOOO HOO. I will post pics when I am done though so all can see.


Of course I will be doing a few upgrades here and there. I so had to learn so many shop skills in building my fett suit those but well worth it.

I wouldnt buy anything from them ever agian, they sent me **** and got mad that I was unhappy and a member that was banned from here blamed me for them having such sloppy recastes.

Steer clear.

Yeah I was looking on eBay today to see what Fett stuff was on there and I found one of F-N-S's auctions. It is amazing that they have almost 100% positive feedback. How does that happen?

because alot of people new to the costuming world doesnt know what a good product looks like and what a bad product looks like.

I just realised my comments about the feedback were actually for Frank-n-son-part2! Whoops! They are both as bad as each other though. Also notice that the aluminium rocket he is selling was mine! But I sold it to F-N-S-Part2.

I bought it for the equivalent of $6! And it was abosolute ****! Now he is trying to to get £35 for it! That just smacks of profiteering! Most people aren't in this hobby for the money but these guys are.

They are the same person. part2 feedback is so crummy he made it private...now is selling back as frank-n-son, he goes back and forth when one gets to many negs than switches to the other one.

is it possible that he has several names and buys his own things just to leave himself positive feedback? I was trying to access someones feedback and it was kept private, why is this allowed on ebay?

Hmm that could be a possiblity if he had two different PayPal accounts or something like that. They allow it for sellers that do not really want their feedback made public, it takes away some from their appearance to prospective buyers but if they have a bad transaction then they don't have to worry about future customers reading about it. I honestly don't buy from anyone that has their feedback private.

in the past i buy some part of this men, i reiceved it quickly and it's a good base for work, but it's necessary to make lot of work on it for have an accurate version ! the price is low (for my item) and the quality was same of the price that 's all ! If you know that it's not a problem.

I bought some stuff from this guy.
It came through to me OK, and it was definately a case of getting what I paid for, and I didn't pay that much. (£35 for a pair of gauntlets).
They needed a LOT of work (and are really too big for me)

I bought an aluminum set of jet pack stabilizer and beacon from him a few months back with no issues. I came with a battery in it and everything.

I've bought a couple of things from him, and had no problems. They weren't big parts though.

I think it's the son that screws things up. I've dealt with "Frank" the father/grandpa(? I think I remeber him saying he makes things for his grandson) on numerous occasions for adult and kid aluminum hardware, and he has always been great to deal with.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with you there. I had some aluminium parts from him and they weren't too bad. Shame about his son

did they actually look right? i got a set from him ages ago and they looked horrid.

i also got stiffed completely on gauntlets.

I bought gauntlets from him,recieved them 3 days later....no problems.

CRAZYFETT, do you live in the uk ? cos I think i may have been dooped into buying a set of gauntlets of frank-n-son. The payment has been taken, but nothing has arrived, and I was given a number to call to arrange a re-delivery. But upon calling the said number it turned out to be a resturant in my local area ? I have contacted this Frank, and I am waiting for a relpy....

If nothing is sorted very soon then I will be reporting this ebay seller to Ebay and Paypal.... and try and get my money back... I only bought a set of him for my second Mando im making, I do however have a set being made by Bradleyfett for my Sniper Mando.

I would like to know if this was the same person you got a set from. He has a wannado email address...

Something that needs to be said right up front are that they are known re-casters. I got gauntlets from them before I learned about TDH, and they are horrible fiberglass re-casts of Ruffkintoy's gauntlets. So if you don't mind supporting a known re-caster, then go ahead.

Would you call the grandpa a "recaster" if all he does is make hand lathed aluminum parts? Or do we hold him responsible for his grandson using his ebay account irresponsibly?

when i bought i first checked the feedback.......their was no problems.i do this when i buy off ebay all the time.

Was you given any kind of phone numbers to contact regarding deliveys? Like I said before, the number I was given was a local indian restruant. Now I can think is that i have been coned...

No..no phone numbers.but my parcel was delivered by APC.

Thanks for the heads up CRAZYFETT. I have been in contact with Frank, and it was a mistake with the contact detail for the Delivery firm. I have been in contact with them and have arranged a re-delivery date. So this Sniper can relax once more.......... & Thanks again CRAZYFETT.....

I understand your point, unfortunately they are in this together, unless they've separated accounts. It sounds like the grandpa is creating his own product, but the grandson is not. If someone is able to differentiate what grandpa makes and what grandson makes then you would be safe. Again, since they use the same account it's difficult to sort out what's what.

Hopefully, if the grandpa is unaware that his account is being used to sell recasted items he'll be made aware and can inject some integrity into the frank-n-son name.

If the gauntlets and accessories they are currently selling have been created by their own design instead of the recasts that were being sold by them, that would be great.

Looks like someone has been reading these posts!

Some gauntlets are now on ebay from "hotchickjulie". They are listed as being in the same location as F-N-S comes from and the listing layout is the same. Plus Julie is the name of the son's wife!

Well after a slight hickup, my F-N-S Gauntlets have arrived and I don't see anything wrong with them at all. All I have to do now is just work my paint job on them and its outfit complete......

well i purchased his gauntlets & not too bad looking too ,i even asked frank to included the dart set as this wasnt included in the auction on ebay as i have mates in the 501st that say FSN,s gaunt darts are the best hehe ....i have rotj FNS gauntlets .
i waitied 2 weeks for my gauntlets from FNS ,at least he updated me what was going on with them every other day !!!
I see some of you guys say that you never got your FSN Gauntlets but did u give him time like i did !! 2 weeks isnt bad but as they say good things come to those who wait .

anyways i was thinking of going to get my gauntlets from Starfortress but after seeing so much debate about Starfortress its hard to say for accuracey what is true and what is false with people saying diffrent things !!! if someone could provide evidence or pictures to show off Starfortress,s gear then maybe we could assume hes a bad guy after all !!
i have seen guys on ebay selling Starfortress's jango armour & gauntlets which looked very nice too .

If you do a search on Star Fortress you will find everything points to bad. Steer clear of SFP.

As far as FNS, I don't think they are the best whatsoever.

There are a lot better ones out there, a lot of which come from makers here. Do yourself a favor and stay away from those and stick with the good stuff here.

The Star Fortress website is absolutely diabolical, that would be enough to put me off.

Yeah, totally. I didn't see this thread before, but I almost got duped by FnS before I joined TDH. Hopefully some other newbies will catch this and know ahead of time to steer clear of this guy.

I got taken by FNS i got a pair of gauntlets that looked good online, when i got them they are a mess. His molds must be warped cause they are. Not only that but it stated they were gel coated, more like resin thats colored, if it is gel coat its the worst ive seen. Im going to have to strip them down re build them and mold a new pair off them just to get a set i can use.

Its amazing these jokers are still around, by amazing I mean a crying shame, they are a zit on the face of the hobby pure and simple, avoid
