    Jul 10, 2007, 12:14 AM - Ebay prop guy: any good? #1

I found this guy several months ago, and he periodicly sells a bunch of resin prop replica kits from various genres. I actually got a Star Trek VI Assault Phaser from him, and it's pretty nice, a lil hefty, and it's definetly bigger than the shruken playmates version. Quite a few bubbles, but nothing a good sanding and bondo won't cure, and the top is a lil bit swooped to one side. Other than that it's fine. He also sells Han Solo's ESB blaster, Jango blaster, and the Leia sporting blaster, and on occasion the clone DC-15s rifle (the short one).

Just curious if he's a recaster, or if it's usualy for his products to turn out like the phaser did, or if he's a good prop resource.

I've been keeping an eye on his stuff for probably a year now. I haven't bought anything though, I'm just keeping it in mind for when I need them. I don't think he's a recaster in the "I ripped off someone elses work" sense, because it's almost always the same models listed. If he was a recaster wouldn't there be more stuff added sometimes and, stuff that someone else offers? I don't know though. I've never heard any one complain about him... yet.

Umm, I can't get access to the RPF, and it says that registration has been turned off by the admins.

What does it say about him? I didn't have any problems with him myself, so I'm curious about what they say, and how bad it is, or if it's really that bad at all.

Basically he's a well-known recaster, and his product is shoddy.

I purchased one from this guy, I wouldnt go as far as to describe it as crappy, its rough but I think its good enough to work on and come up with a decent helmet. You get what you pay for, for $85 it seems like a good deal... We'll see how it turns out.

a lot of it is a moral thing... much of their work is recast from someone else.

and some items truly are ****. their firefly stuff is seriously ungood!
