Would this work?

I have a question- would Mold Max Stroke Trial Kit | rowetrading.openstores.com.au work for making a one time mold of a helmet? I intend to keep this mold for awhile, I'm going to be molding some pepakura stuff in future and I'd like to trial this to get some experience. I've watched multiple molding video's except 99% of them use rebound 25. Which I cannot afford and can't get in Australia. Would the MoldMaxStroke trial kit be a cheaper alternative? I'll be using plaster to reinforce the mold

Fibreglass would b a better reinforcing material. You can make it in 2 which bolt together. Just put some dents/ridges on tge outside of your silicone to act as a 'key' to align the fibreglass sections.

Can't afford fiberglass at the moment, That's why i'm using some plaster till I can afford it :)
So, my question still remains- would the mold max stroke TRIAL kit be enough to make a good mold if reinforced with plaster?

It should be enough rubber to cast one helmet, but if you're doing a one part mold be aware of undercuts and that your jacket (plaster) will probably have to be two part. Basically, you get what you pay for. I'm not sure if that silicone is intended for brush on or pour molds but if it's for one you're not using it will be unsuitable. Also, be aware you will need to purchase a mold release as well. You will also have to do over 9000 layers if it's brush on and you don't have any silicone thickener. If this is your first time, you have no money, and don't really know what you're doing expect disaster. Basically you could be wasting $50 for a project that could be done right with $100. Eventually, you may have to re-do it costing you $150. Just something to think over.

It has part a (rubber) and part b (hardener). It is brush on, it is a 10:1 ratio, I already have some mold release too. And yes, I was going to do a 2 part jacket and one piece mold

Okay... what I need to know is

1- Will the mold max stroke TRIAL kit work to create a decent mold of a mandalorian/odst sized helmet
2- should I buy two tins instead of one?
3- Would plaster work as a good jacket if done in two pieces

Ive molded things with straight plaster actually it can be done...but plaster is VERY soft in terms of it can break easily. Not sure Id want to use it for something like this. Its more for a 1 time mold IMHO.

I'll be using Mold Max Stroke TRIAL kit for making the mold, I was going to use plaster as reinforcement.
So- will the trial kit work for making a mold or should I get two tins?

It's hard to say, I'm not sure how far the silicone/ rubber would go. Since silicone sticks really well to itself you could buy one kit and see if you need more later. The new layer should adhere fine to the cured silicone.

I have only moderate experience so I couldn't say, that and the US doesn't use metric b/c our system is based on silly childish measures like how many "feet" something is.
