Wiring ?

I need to wire up some lights (flashing ones).. but have no idea about electronics at all , I'm good at burning myself with a soldering iron though . Can someone shed a little light on the subject for me ?

Thanks , the second one is exactly what I needed (the first one was a little confusing ) and the diagram is easy to understand

how abt fans inside helmets?? i got a small comouter fan and all the stuff...but i wonder where u guys put them and how u rig the fan into the helmet?
