Some of you know I've been working on a servo kit for a while and since I have made some progress on it I figured I would start a WIP thread.
Here are a few pics of the mock up. This is an early version, I plan on trying to make the controller board use only one or two components, but that is a ways away.

The transmitter will be a cleaned up version of the key fob. The controller board still needs to be drawn up in cad and made, so it's going to be some time before it's ready for release.
 
smoooth! will you be able to adjust the speed? I like when they go down slowish like 3 seconds or so from up to down, and the same from down to up. that may just be me lol. my old hyperdyne was perfect speed wise,but the rest was a mess..it didnt go down all the way, and was a pain to get to work! lol. heres a video:

Setting the speed is tricky due to the code. I may be able to tweak it a little, but probably not too much. The code has to refresh the servo because of the internal clock frequency, so I don't know how much I can slow it down before it gets really jerky.

I'm about half way done drawing the board up in CAD. Once that's done I just have to see if there will be enough interest in it, I don't want to have kits sitting around collecting dust. I have pretty much all the parts sourced, so that shouldn't be hard.
The question that I have been debating is the attachment method between the servo and the stalk. I have a servo picked out that should do the job, and the shaft extension is the same one that SK recommends for his kit. Now I haven't quite figured out how to attach the servo to the stalk, especially since there are so many different versions of stalks out there. I was thinking of just including the servo and the shaft extension with the kit, and leaving the attachment method to the buyer. Is that an option that everyone can live with?
 
I think that we're a pretty resourceful bunch here on the forum; we can figure it out ourselves. As well, we usually share our methods and WIP's to show others what can be done and how to do it. I think you could easily leave the attachment method to your customers. Given the variety of stalks out there, there's not much you can really do about that.

Any idea what your price point might be?

What kind of attachment would we need? Could you post pics of your solution? Also - does it matter which gauntlet this goes on? I plan on having my smoke machine wired to my right gauntlet. Finally, can you provide the buttons/switches for the gauntlets (both)?
 
The alco switches will be included with the kit. I am thinking of including the servo shaft extension, but the actual connection between it and the stalk is what I will leave to the buyer since there are so many different stalks.
On my mockup I drilled and tapped a small hole in the stalk and use a set screw to hold it to the shaft extension.
as for which gauntlet, it shouldn't matter. There will need to be 2 holes for the switches to be mounted to, but other than that it shouldn't matter.
