Testor's Metalizer Airbrush paints

I've only used these on small projects, like 1/48 scale airplanes. Now I want to try using it on a Commander Gree helmet, to make the metal part really shine and look, well, like metal.

I understand you airbrush it on then buff.

How have other folks results been and would you recommend another spray-on paint that could achieve this effect better?

well the rub n buff metalizers are great. Most of the jango buckets on here have used those to achive the metal steel finish. It will dull down over time though. If you want a true metalic finish that will hold up use automotive paints. There pricy but the best Grees I have seen used them.

Thanks. I may buy some rub n buff too, and see how that works.

I have used the testors stuff on a pair of blasters I did, the key is there is a special sealer they make for it. Basically you paint the color on, buff it shiny, then spray the special sealer and it never dulls again. If you don't use the sealer the paint doesn't completly dry and will rub off or dull with even a little bit of touching.

Mirrachrome is hte highest reflective paint on the market. It is a little bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

Yea but from what I understand that mirrorchrome stuff is really hard to get a finnish like that with. I have seen a couple people use it with only so so results.
