Taun taun taxidermy complete!/ Kit now ready pics page 2

you must be loaded to afford to be able to make a mold for that thing

That is truly magnificent. Hands down one of the coolest original pieces i've ever seen
No. not loaded at all. All I can hope for is to sell at least one or two to make up for my costs. It's worked out so far.;)

I think I'm motivated enough to get the mold supplies. I'll order them this week and make it my weekend project. Post pics of the mold process when I take them. I have a huge free lance project that could consume my time in March and April, so I'd like to get this one out of the way. Fun fun fun. I'm excited as well about seeing this all furred up. Anyone know where to get some god looking fur for cheap let me know.:)

Here are some more pics. I think I'm close now. I changed some things. Added more eye detail, more meat in the back of the head, and over all I changed the skin texture to a more detailed, leathered look. Whatcha think?:D

Wow, I just came across this thread. Amazing work there!!!

I have to add that you must have a very patient wife. If my stuff starts taking up 1/2 of the dining table my wife gets angry, and you don't want to see her angry.

Actually I have an art room, but she makes me do stuff in the kitchen so I can be around the family and am not holed up back there where noone can see me... :love

Beautiful job. So you're going to solid cast them? Wonder what would need to be done to be able to add animatronics to one.

Not solid cast, probably fiberglass, with shell-shock as the print coat. Like my Briareos helmet. The horns will be smoth cast-roto, like my iron man lid.
There is the possiblity to animate this, even as a fiberglass cast. You can cut the bottom jaw off and hide the pivot with the fur. You could attached a silicone lip to the fg with spandex to make it stretch. You could also make eye lids out of laytex for an eye blink, and make the eyes move left to right.
I had even thought of casting a silicone skin for this backed by a FG skull. That way I could punch the fur into it for a more refined finish detail. Then you could go crazy with animation to include nostril flares, ear wiggles, etc..
For now though I'll start with just a static piece. If I turn it into a costume I may do some animation.:D

MOLD IN PROCESS:D print coat applied.:D
To make your silicone go further, try adding recycled, chopped up cured silicone, to a batch of silicone. Any access drip offs or trimmings from the mold can be used as filler the subsequent layers of silicone.
