selling star wars props

Ive noticed that alot of people sell star wars related props and costumes, here on TDH and on several other sites. Ive been ask about my mandoalorian armor, based on the boba fett templates, and if I will make any for people, several people around my town have ask for the helmet and for full suits. I was wondering if it is acutally legal to make and sell star wars props to people or do you need lucas's permission. I just dont want to build and sell suits and have lucas boot in my door and sue me.

It falls under fan-made. LFL actually has publically said that they are OK with it, but don't go setting up websites to sell the stuff or you'll get slapped with a C&D.

so if people ask me if I can make them a entire custom mando suit and they will pay me a said amount, thats ok, becasue it a fan made suit?

Basically if you're in the US and doing small runs of stuff to sell on a board, or making one offs to sell to friends and neighbors you're ok. If you set up shop and try to mass produce you're screwed. Now if you're in say South America, or the Philipines you can set up these shops.

well i live in Canada, would those laws still affect me?

I think it's basically the same as the U.S. If i'm wrong on that someone please correct me.

I would probably just be doing small runs, probably no more than 5 or 10 helmets
