Ive been wondering where I can find the type of masking tape that I see alot of professional custom painter's use, for example, what they use to make flame's on a custom chopper's gas tank.
My current method of achieveing the proper curve on the helmet's cheeks/mandibles is often incredibly time consuming and if not done right the first time, have to start over. Thanks

might have to try an autobody paint store. Did you try Pepboys and Kragen?

Like Jango mentioned, you could try the auto pinstriping tape as well. It's vinyl and very flexible. You might have to stick it onto your desk/table first as the adhesive is stronger than the standard blue "painters tape."
I had actually thought of that, but I dont want to risk leaving some residue behind, which would make it hard to sand off, and not to mention taping off the seperation line between the blues..Quote:

i am not sure what you are trying to do but here is what i use. either cut strips of lint brush paper. peal a strip cut a few strips as needed and follow the lines. use painters tape to cover the rest. it has worked great for me. its plastic and bends to your need (depends on how thick you cut the strip). also use label paper (the kind for address labels for mail. best place I know of to get the tape your after is at NAPA auto parts and or your local auto body supply store.

This is what i use when painting cars etc. It has good release properties and is very easy to work with. Most likely you may just have to order online... Good Luck!
