painting resin figures/models

Hello all,

I need some advice for paint. I want to try my hand at painting small resin props/models but I have no experience with the different paints.

What kind/brand of paint do people usually use for this? acrylic? enamel? where can I get a basic color set? I don't have an airbrush, I'll just be using regular brushes.

Some people will probably disagree with me here but, I use the Citadel paint sets used for Warhammer, I have the full range of foundations, inks/washes and the standard colour range, I also use their undercoat spray as it's extremely fine and the chemicals in it leave the most detailed undercoat of any spray I've ever tried (including Tamiya and I've tested a lot) the undercoat spray can be laid on thick and it will evaporate all excess paint even from all cracks and details leaving a very thin and even coat allover.

The foundations are great for mixing and building up texture then the base paints perfect for filling and detailing then I use the inks/washes to slop ontop which seeps into the cracks and details as a semi-transparent very effective texture and depth enhancer also perfect for doing weathering and dirt etc. Then to finish up I use their "Purity Seal" satin finish spray to protect the paint job and make it waterproof.

Without photos and examples it's hard to explain exactly how this process works but if you like I can provide you with some Citadel painting guides and examples to describe this further? I recently painted an X-Wing which came out looking far better than everything I have seen for sale (I'll take pics when my camera finally arrives through the mail).
