Well, I think that they have a cataloge, you can get it from.
So a catalogue is the answer?
well, depends where you plan on buying it from?...?
I found a place selling sintra, only prob is they have a 50$ minium, and one sheet of 4ft by 4ft of sintra is 20 bucks from them, so Iam askin if anyone knows a place cheaper, or has some they can toss/sell me fast, or if anyone is interested in gettin some sintra in bulk.
USPlastic.com
got mine there, took 4 days, its a huge sheet, and you can screw up alot and still have plenty. get the .120 thickness. your gonna spend close to 50 anyway.
And if your thinking of going thinner, its way to flexible.
Yup, that's where I get mine as well. USplastics is a great site. and the people working there are vary nice as well.:D
thanks for the input, iam going to start a new post in construction on this coming up, but askin here first, So far, in my 2 week rush attempt to get/modify/make a decent looking boba fett, I have found jumpsuit, vest and armor, boots and spats, helmet, meaning I still need some, I still got roughly a week to have everything together, but I could use some more help, the only money I have left is in PAYPAl do to a major bank error saying I didnt deposit the few hundred dollars i have a reciept for, and they wont fix it till roughly friday... so I would have to pay for it by paypal or be trusted to pay after friday/monday area. I need to at least get these major things together, all accourding to the ESB (or easily repainted, modiefied to be ESB)
Gloves
Gauntlets
ammo belt
rope belt
large bags
cloak
wookie scalps
jet pack* (plans to make this would be prefered, as cardboard will be my method for this super fast costume, until my shipment of sintra comes in, then I can worry about makin it awsome. unless of course someone is willin to let one go for 50-80 bucks with paypal money and shippin included.)
these need to be made by blueprints, or bought cheaply. If bought, I dont expect 100% movie accurate detail or perfection in mould, a gauntlet with a mould warp or hole in it is better then none at all. Thank you for your time/effort and consideration.

or PM me,
or AIM me at SKYBLZER, if away message, do anyway, ill get it.
All I can say is good luck, One week with $80 dollars and most things take 4-5 days to ship.........
An epoxy is always the way to go with a poly-vinyl chlorides,as Sintra is P.V.C.,that is usually the best way to go.....
Yes,guys,Sintra is simply a poly-vinyl chloride(pvc),so ask for pvc sheeting........simple as that...:)
"Sintra" is simply a poly-vinyl chloride sheet,(pvc).
simple as that!:lol
I have a thread a couple pages back that shouuld have all the facts bout sintra.
It has a vanilla taste to it. :)
its light, bends easy, and you can leave a mark in it with your fingernail, other pvc boards are to hard to leave a mark.
I am working with Komatex (Comatex?) right now. VERY similar to Sintra, **** near identical I'd say. 'something else to consider if Sintra is out of stock.
About how many pieces of sintra does it take to make a full ESB Boba Fett Suit?
Armor (all of it)
Jet Pack
Gauntlets
Those are the only things at the moment that i think of that need sintra right? any ideas on how much i need please PM me. thanks
Roughly speaking, how much is that compared to the Sintra?Quote:

Sure am glad I stumbled in here. I'm just about to start on my armor and now I'm afraid I would've made a HUGE mistake. Didn't know Dremels' melt the stuff- and I've got a single speed, too! That would've gotten ugly...
i have always used my EMT shears . they work pretty good if the sintra is at room temp . otherwise if it is kinda cold it tends to crack while cutting .
I was doing some surfing and ran across these sites on working with Sintra.

This line has a cheesy commercial feel to it, but I need to ask a question. I know many of you prefer sintra, but I've heard some one mention a material called Komatex (or maybe Comatex?), so what's the difference between it and sintra in moldablity and price?
Wow, that's a whole lot of info. Book knowledge is great, but in just a couple of hours I got all the info I needed from browsing around in here. And these guys (and ladies) can tell you a lot more about the run-ins they had than any manual can. Good find, though.
Has anybody even heard of the other stuff?
Sintra is tough material with variable thicknesses and colors. Very easy to work with and paint. You don't need a vaccuum forming station to create any parts with sintra. One drawback about sintra is that you cannot leave it in a warm place like in a car on a hot sunny day. The heat will deform the sintra since it takes heat to shape it in the first place. The other stuff...I've never heard of it. Maybe someone here can fill us in on it.
:jango
I've used both. the two products are VERY similar, but Comatex appears to be slightly more porous and lighter. I will use up the rest of my Comatex, but probably go with Sintra from here on out.
Cheers.
Okay, thanks.
I agree with bobaGoat . . .
The box cutter works . . . .BUT !
It takes a sort of coordination so that it does not
look like a sophmoric job. When you start to cut, keep a
study hand and a consistant hand motion.
When you are done. you can sand off to smooth the
edges . . .
Very helpful indeed !! :)
Anyone know where you can get Sintra in thee uk ? I've done searches but I just keep getting stuff about Portugal
:fettesb
Fett The Hunter . . .
You can get extra scraps of Sintra for free if you know of the right science
Labortories in your area. They always have extra scraps of the stuff.
Syntra is an awesome plastic to work with, I just made a vader buckle as a test in only 40 mins ,I also got to spray paint it as well. The rest of my future Vader suit will be in Syntra due to the fact that I can shape it and add layers of more syntra with Bondo to give it a right good look. Syntra is indeed great for many projects. OH yeah and talk about getting it for free ,so far all the times I've been to the warehouse were they manufacture the stuff ,someone always gives it to me for free because its always lying around.
I dont think there are any science labs near me :)
I'm suspecting that Sintra goes under a different name in Britain ?
:fettesb
Sintra not available in the UK. Their Occupational Health Ministry knows of it's carcinogenic properties when dust from cutting and sanding or the fumes of burning/melting Sintra. I send sheets of it to friends over there. It costs about $60 to send 3 2'x3' sheets by Global Priority and $30 for super slow boat that will not get there in under 8-10 weeks.
Good luck.

hi,newbie here.
i was thinking of making a clone armor using Sintra. question is can Sintra be molded? if so what sort of plaster can i use to form the mold? also, can Sintra be blow-molded?
