That's some great work, I love that you're putting your own spin on the suit, look forward to seeing it all up and together (y)

I'm working on sanding the legs as we speak, so I'll have some more pics coming soon... it's hard work though, so far I've done one shin which now needs filling and sanding again.

I imagine it is really tough work but so rewarding to see it all come together, keep that momentum going! (y)

Here's the latest update on this project. After a very long time sanding and filling (and they still aren't perfect), I've sorted out the legs which were previously pictured as raw casts:

Primer going on:

And the paint... I still have to lacquer the thighs so there will be some more pictures coming of all the pieces together etc:

...all the pieces are made of Jesmonite and standard glass fibre mat & surface tissue, which is now my permanent plan for the remaining pieces. Don't forget this month's 50%-off Jesmonite offer if you fancy trying it: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showthread.php?t=31190

I made up this strapping system to support the legs and also to attach lower torso/pelvis parts to:

Here's the pelvis in progress... I made this from thick card and it'll be reinforced with Jesmonite/fibreglass mat - it was the easiest way to make it and check it fits both me and the other pieces as I was going:

More coming soon...

quick question, whats your plan for the jointing at the knees? just an open space on the back with a cap over the knee to "close" it up? and are you going to be putting a casting around an existing pair of shoes to make a permenant boot structure or are you going to make it mountable on any shoes you happen to be wearing?(just curious im in the process of designing my own IM suit so seeing your progress has been really helpful)

also how did you make that LCD lens to cover the eyes? i can tell the basic construction but i wouldnt figure you would have very good visability through it
