Michell sweep arm Disassembly??

I got my Sweep arm in the mail today
Started to take it apart...
Ran into a snag
How do I get this rod off of the Knee Dart/Toe Spike piece?

If you have access to a lathe, hold the main body in a 'soft 3 jaw chuck' and hacksaw the rod off leaving 1/16". then face off with knife tool... (at least thats what I'd do?) :thumbsup

the question is: where did you get the sweep arm from?
Or anyone know where to purchase just the spindle??

I don't know, but I would love to draft blueprints of those babies :drool

Does the rod not just pull/twist out?
Would that mean that the originals were cut off then drilled out the hole?

Not sure myself
I tried the twist/pull idea
No good
It has to come out
maybe some heating/cooling
It's at the Machine shop now ....8)
