That was my score today, the blue blazer, lol, I like saying that...But for 8 bucks, I couldn't pass it up (Ignore the puple shirt. ) :
Kwally....have you found out if the fabric will be 45" or 60" wide? How much I order, will depend on how wide the bolt is going to be....
not 100% sure but im pretty sure somewhere in this thread he said it was goign to be printed on 45' that mightve been the original printer...but im pretty sure its 45..
I'm with you. I remember seeing 45" on the thread...
In that case, put me down for 4 yards, Kwally....
Hadda make it big, so he wouldn't miss it!
3 yards please (my name still says zero so just reminding)
I'm going to change my yardage to 4 yards and I would need it before Halloween. I also just wanted to say thanks to everyone who felt my pattern was worthy of this project. It makes the long hours seem worth it!
Also an update... I was checking out Tabio's website, and they have the Joker socks available for preorder. It says expected delivery is October. My order after shipping came to roughly $40.
Can I get in on 3 yards?
well in their blog they said they'd be posting pictures in the next 24-48 hours. Maybe they'll help me decide.
You have to remember that they're really only $30, which is only about double the price of their other socks... shipping to the US costs money, even for something so small. Although, $40 isn't too bad compared to the $170 I'm spending on a tie.
I agree that paying 40 for the sock is too much, but I'd give my Neck for that tie.
Can anyone PM me a great way to age the shoes? Thanks! I know it was posted earlier, but I got a real slow computer.
i tried looking through the threads
do we know when we'll get the fabric yet? before halloween?
if thats the case im still in for 4 yds
(thats enough for a medium dress shirt right?)
<P>is 3yds on 45" fabric enough for a medium size shirt??</P>
Actually, I was kinda wondering about the progress on the shirt material myself. Kwally, we miss you...
Thanks Sinister. I have another pair of shoes that is size 9.5. So if anyone is looking let me know. unsure of price I bought them on Ebay for $29 thinking they where 10.5, but of course they were mis-listed, but go figure went to GoodWill and got the exact same shoe for $3. So any takers? I would have no problem trading them for a couple of pair of socks if anyone went with the 12 for $120 (minimum) deal online. Just Pm me. Thanks again Sinister I'll post the end product later.
again...is 3yds on 45" enough for a med shirt? lol i need to know for my total
for anyone interested tabio has pics up http://tabio.com/uk/detail/?cate=10210&hinban=25576
the socks seem to have a speckled blend into the fabric.
Just an FYI, but to keep the thread cleaner (I'm guilty of the opposite. ) we have some other Joker threads. It'd help for us all to keep the conversation out of this thread, and get it into the appropriate ones.

Joker Costume Findings :
Nah, thats just getting a little bit to complicated for me.
I'm happy everyone who bought socks up to this point are going to be pissed. Cause their socks are no longer acurate. LOL! I actually have to recant my post and say buy em if you want the perfect costume.
I know I just payed for my socks yesterday (the fake ones)........ I just hope they have them on sale after Halloween so i can grab a pair for day to day.
ya back to shirt topic now ****** lol, when the heck are we gonna see the finished pattern?? and i advise do not post it direct on here unless its watermarked to no end because ppl will rip it off and sell it on ebay like several people are doing with my zazzle ties and cards, and when i call them out on it they say its not mine...but when i check zazzle i see their name and address is the same as their ebay info...go figure right lol and im not sure about this whole measuring thing so will 3yds make a medium size shirt?? or should i go with 4....we gotta get this puppy moving to get it with plently of time before halloween for those of us like myself who want it for then because its gonna take time to print and such.
yeah, did Kwally say he'd be out of town or something, we haven't heard from him in a while. Well I trust him enough to get this stuff going in time.
well sereiana did say that the boys would have the pattern on the 19th....and that was 3 days ago so i dont know where in the process we are at at all now lol can we be filled in sereiana? do they have it? did u talk to them about it and they give u any info on the where we are in the printing process??? anything lol
I've not heard anything, but Kwally's busy with his Navy training. So he would have to check this on a phone. Which is a major pain. Pinder I usually see here and there about this time and Sereiana I'm not sure. Have Faith let them figure it out and i guarantee when they know we will know. So try NOT to Pm those guys or bug them with the constant So whats...??? If you need to just Pm another user thats on to see what they have heard. That will limit clutter on here and keep them from answering questions when Kwally could be talking to the printer VP or Sereana vectoring and let Pinder un-cross his eyes and help Farm silk to get our Ties made (Turnbull&Asser Oh yeah!!!) Oh and I did purchase the Socks today Direct From Tabio. (they cost $39.25 USD) Which is way too much, but then again They're Speckled and the socks on Ebay are still going at about there on auctions and 3x that on BIN prices.

Is there anny way a newbie can get a part of this gig? Finally I find some jokers as crazy as me for perfection. Three yards before halloween would be a miracle.
Well...I got the 10-buck socks, because quite frankly, most folks won't even know the difference, and since I'm betting about 95% of folks here doing the Joker don't even resemble Ledger, screen accuracy issues kinda fly out the window......my big @ss sure doesn't look like him...
I'm new here but have been a member of The RPF for years. Kwally has been posting over there and he as done a wondefull job thus far getting this off the ground. There are a lot of immitation Joker shirts out there, but this one seems to be 'the one' to own.
I just got my Joker wig from Gorify.com (now sold out and only available on Ebay). It is a really fantastic wig - expensive, but real hair that totally knocks anything Rubies makes out of the water.
I too own the 'replica' socks. They look perfect and they really are a minor costume piece that won't require a lot of scrutiny like the topcoat or the shrit.
I too hope to hear the latest very soon on the shirt fabric...in the meantime, anyone have any clues as to the pants??
These were originally a light grey with white pinstripes, 100% wool, $20 pair of grey slacks from Macy's. Using Purple Rit Dye for 24 hours, then Royal Blue Rit Dye for 30 minutes, I was able to get the right shade. Use seperate dye buckets. After each dye, I rinsed and dried the pants before moving on. This week, I will be taking off the belt loops and adding suspender (braces) buttons to the inside of the waist for my suspenders...
I know Kwally's starting a separate thread for this purpose, but in case I miss the deadline I just want to state up front that I'm going in for 3 yards. Also, I'm having trouble finding a place that will make the shirt, and at the risk of sounding greedy, I think I speak for most of us when I say I'd be perfectly willing to pay extra to have it sent as an actual dress shirt. If this is impossible, I still want the fabric.
Edit: after reading other posts by new members, I think it's only fair to admit that yes, I am a newbie. However, I have been trying hard for a very long time to put together a screen-accurate Joker costume, and I'm relieved to finally find a group of people united by the same goal. I can only hope we all find what we're looking for.

Sinister Those Pants are amazing. you should post a pic of the suspenders you are using.
Alright I know its been a bit of a time since you've heard from me.
You can't imagine how much of a HELL making this pattern has been. I'm not sugar coating this - it was a bastard and thats being NICE about it.
Thanks to pinder, and some light photo reference I was happily and secure in the knowledge that the pattern lines have been counted - and I could keep it accurate to that degree.
However - since I did this vector by cutting out all of the miniscule pattern bits - I can honestly say it's the most complex vector I've ever encountered and my computer HATED IT - most of the remaining time was spent just figuring out fractions of pixels to get things to line up and then waiting 3 minutes for the computer to comply and make changes.
HERE SOMETHING YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!
Notice that the Checker patterns at the top end up next too each other as they should.
Folks we cant get any closer than this.
The actual color ended up being cross reference sampled from every photo I could get my hands on with solid lighting as well as the recommendations of the board. I took ALL of these samples and allowed the computer to average them all out ^_^
Then I tweaked it a hair from there. What do you think?
The actual vector is also to scale. Even if this picture isnt.
((also we may want to move the jibber about costume bits over to the joker costume findings thread to keep this clutter free from here on out. All the same FANTASTIC pants - I think I might have to thieve your dying ratios))
wow that looks great is it just me or do those edges look really wide?? shouldnt they be a bit smaller?? or is that just how the pic is...and i guess the color isnt to bad lol
Actually the edges when compared to the actual shirt are just about right. They are a HAIR wide (less than a milimeter (but it wouldnt snap to a grid for lining things up any other way TRUST ME)) -
Given HOW close it is - and the complexity of the pattern - I just plain CAN'T do anything about it.
hey all is good it was just sumthing i had noticed...is the acutal vector bigger hexs or are those the final hex size
A vector is scalable so the design hexes sides will be an inch by an inch on the vector as per pinders scale measurements that were compared to the real tie for comparison.
Outstanding! I think it looks great. I would also like to take this opportunity to say thanks to you and everyone else (kwally, pinder, etc...) for all your hard work in this project.:thumbup
yeah, thanks for doing such a great job with everything kwally, pinder, sereiana, and everyone else!
To bad there are so many people wanting to snatch that pattern (i usual take the newest pattern we have and make it my desktop).
oops double post.

hey hey, good job on that pattern!! crikey it's getting so close to the fruition of everyones labour!!! tis nailbiting i tell ye!!! heh
I know I'm a newbie here, but I've been following all this for quite some time.. and lemme say, I'm sold. You've all done a lot of work, and saved me a lot of work and money as well (I was going to vector my own pattern.. started on it and I will admit I don't have the stamina Sereiana has. Making a tiling pattern is difficult, making multiple tiling patterns within other tiling patterns.. hooo...)
So.. I didn't read anywhere that newbies couldn't order any..so pending exact price info, I'd like to be put down for 5 yards please. Thankee-sais
well guys...I got the finished vector and am getting ready to get it to the printers! Sorry I've been AWOL for the past week or so...it's been kinda crazy and I'm checking all this stuff on my iPhone....ugh!! I'm guessing orders will start on Wednesday at the latest!! Stay tuned
awesome kwally thats great news!
THANKS SO MUCH TO SERIANA FOR ALL THE HARD WORK!!!
THANKS SO MUCH TO PINDER FOR ALLL THE HARD WORK!!!
THANKS SO MUCH TO KWALLY FOR ALL THE HARD WORK!!!
THANKS TO ALL FOR AN AMAZING GROUP PROJECT!!!
I have never been a part of something this huge that has worked out so well!!!
Everyone has been amazing and I cannot give out enough praise!!!
I cannot wait to put in my order and I am dancing with joy at the thought of getting this material for my personal Joker Halloween costume!!!
THANKS! THANKS! THANKS! :thumbup:thumbup:thumbup:thumbup:thumbup
I agree with everyone else, this is just awesome. To the people who worked the hardest on this: us Jokers are completely indebted to you. You're bringing us something that we've all wanted for months, and trying your hardest to make sure we don't have to pay insane amounts of money just to be faithful to the silver screen. Thank you, and may the force be with us all.
Sacramento deserves a better class of Halloween costume, and I'm going to give it to them.
So is the order of people still in line? I initially was in the 60 range but im sure alot of people dropped out by now ahead of me..And we have a gang of new people im sure.. Will it be a mad scramble in the ordering thread?Anyways just wondering how it's gonna work, I do need mine before Halloween.. Wouldn't want to be placed on a second order or something depending on number of people.
BTW great job on the design! Looks sick..Kwally, seri and pin you guys rock! And to all those that supported these guys and made em work their arse off to our benefit...
Awesome work... I shall toast thee with my heartiest wine.
I love this so much... if we are still at $20-25/yard I want 6. Yippee.
Sinister, honestly, awesome job on the shoes again. Every time I look at them, they look better. Another thing, would you want to check your Macy's and see if they have another set of pants like that? If so, PM me, brother.
Thank you Kwally, Sereiana, and Pin!
Guys congrats on a brilliant thread!!!
Kwally I PM'd you a few days ago, are you able to pick them up on your iPhone??
Looks great so far. The only thing I noticed was that the "oriental" pattern, as I call it (lines with squares at alternating intersections) is mirrored from row to row. Maybe you saw something in the pattern that I didn't. The "diamonds" pattern looks great, but has an extra diamond showing along each vertical side. The "ninja stars" pattern is also slightly altered. I'm guessing that this is all due to the nature of getting the vector to do its thing, as I have no idea how they work. I can't wait to see this printed though. Great job Sereiana!
I PMed pinder for more details - theres only so much left I can do, though. Rest assured I'll do what I can. The oriental pattern is tweakable but the remainder of it isnt so much. All the same It's sooooo close (but I'm all for getting it as exact as possible to the best of my ability.
Sere forget what these freaks (in a nice way) are saying and leave the design as is. If anyone comes up to me Halloween night and says I have one less square or something is not aligned perfectly I will knock em out cold. (just as a real joker would!) This is getting ridiculous on the little nitpicking from this design..Maybe no one is but it just seems like it..They put no work in (except obviously pinder which has a right) and should be doing backflips over getting a shirt this accurate.
Lets get her done!

Been watching the thread since about page two and finally got around to registering last night. First off I'd like to thank everyone for their great input to parts for this costume and suggestions all around. I don't know if thanks would be enough to those who've donated their skills to create and perfect the pattern but I'm offering them up to them as well.
Now to offer my own part, if anyone is looking for the makeup still I'd recommend fxsupply.com. I ordered from there a couple of years ago for a Beast costume I made (lots of blue body paint) and shipping was prompt and they have some good price points as well. Not only that, but if you're in need of a little advice on what or how much to order, I've found them to be quite helpful. I've already placed my order for some of their generic white body paint for my face and some other random items.
As for the threads, if the fabric list is still going, I'd like to jump on at #67 or where ever we're at now with 5 yards. It's a wonderful creation you've teamed up to make and I'd hate to miss out.
Ok guys....for the record...this is how this is going to work. Im going to open a new thread here and at therpf titled: Joker Hexagon Shirt Order Price:"whatever the final price is...$24-25 a yard". I will then start taking actual payments for your yardage. I will put all the details in the new thread. This will be strictly for orders...NO discussion. I love forums and all that good stuff, but I'm REALLY busy right now, and I need this thread to stay tidy. Production will take around 2-3 weeks. I will then package everyone's fabric and ship together in one weekend. Keep posted!
Sounds good, Kwally...be sure to post that payment thread link here for folks who don't know TDH that well...save them from having to surf endlessly for it....
thats awesome kwally will everyone that needs it for halloween get them in time??
Kwally do you need everyone to send you their yardage in pms?
Another good hi-rez shot of the shirt...
ugh ya it def looks like its on a blue fabric lol
i def think the pattern needs to be on a light purple or blue most of the photos show this...
YOU CANNOT JUDGE COLOR BASED ON SCREENCAPS!!!
Sorry, just felt it needed repeating.
So Kwally, would you be willing to work with me on accepting a Money Order/Check? I'd get one ASAP, just for you.
I think it only looks that way because the blue of the print is "mixing" optically with the white of the shirt in far away shots like that. That's in addition to the blue filter they seem to have used on that scene.. printing on white is a good compromise (well, not a compromise, but it works out ). If you want it blue, dye it.
Pinder's right, i think what a lot of people are forgetting is that the screen shots are relatively small, so a pattern like this would create the illusion that the shirt is blue, kinda like using half tones.
to get the idea, try standing a few feet away from your screen with Pinders and Sereinas pattern up, i'll bet the white starts to look blue to y'all at some point, and if you could get up close to that shirt, then you'd see the white on it where you're thinking you're seeing blue!
this all looks kewl as!
May I add that i tried a similar pattern with iron on transfers on both a white and lavender fabric and the white is the winner, when i looked at it from a distance the material appeared blue like what you see in the photos. On the lavender the pattern blended in and was less distinct.
and yes dye would be very simple to adjust the color if you want
I know we discussed this at some point but how many yards will make a medium size shirt and how many will make a small???
*sigh* I imagine that once Kwally is ready he will post a new forum with a small FAQ at the beginning containing this info - or I'd be happy to as well.
ct joker - I believe you were actually involved in the base color discussion the first time around. You've mentioned before that you think it needs to be duller. Please trust that the properties of fabric and the fact that most of the patterns on the shirt are optical illusions should give you the result you're looking for. And they are right, it will be cotton; if all else fails dye it ever so slightly blue. It most definately a white base, though.
The other thing to keep in mind is that the Joker costume is weathered so that it looks lived in and worn. The area around the collar shows lots of evidence of sweat stains and is generally a bit dingier than it would normally be.
ya i was involved in the first discussion and i think white is teh best choice but still sumthing in my head says it looks like a diff color fabric..i wont even bother dying it another shade cuz im pretty sure i even said step back and look at the pattern it sorta looks like a diff color....i guess my subconsious was typign for me lol sry
To those reading, I wanna stress that the main reason I post these pics is to show the details of the shirt, and not to cause any consternation or questioning of the current fabric project...as I have said before, I'm good with the white cotton background, and if not, I'll dye it later.......
....the main thing about these pics (and the one above) is to notice the shape of the collar: it appears to be slightly pointed...
...and the cuffs are rounded on the ends...
Details for the SA anal!

That first pic is of someone's costume.. I don't know if you were using it as reference or example, but yeah.. that's a Zazzle tie. :o I think the collar on that shirt is too small anyways.
I corrected it, and posted the one I was originally trying to do!
Speaking of ties....has anyone done a good zazzle take-off on the Turnbull tie design? Less than 175 bucks, that is?
yes i have infact done this like a week or 2 ago... check out my ties at
i have one that looks like the photos as well that you see people posting on ebay and selling them for 75$+ when they get it from zazzle for 30$...jerks
Whats the back of the vest fabric? Is that the same as the shirt. It looks similar but blurry.
no its a striped slik looks like 2 different blues vertical design..
Hey Kwally are you still going to be offering to stitch shirts as well?
The actual material is a satin or silk that is almost the same shade of blue/purple as the pattern on the shirt.
The stripes are actually broken (dashed) pinstripes that are a slightly lighter shade of the base color. the best picture I have found is in the Art of The Dark Knight and that wasn't much.
It is certainly a custom print, just like the shirt.
Unable to find the exact material, or anything remotely close, I settled on this for the back of my vest... (details below)
Originally, a Donald Trump brand men's extra large dress shirt that was a pale blue. I wear a men's small, so one shirt was enough to make the back of the vest, the lining, and pocket lining. I am saving the shirt buttons to use on my hexagon shirt...
It is 100% cotton, but has that satin shine to it. The pinstripes are a weave in the material, so it dyes really well.
I used Navy Blue Rit Dye for a very quick 5 minute dip. It combines with the original color of the shirt to make a very close match to the actual material. The closest that I have found. (Photo above uses a flash)
Once again, I hope anything I post about my own costume has helped others in any way...
It looks to me like the stripes are metallic, or at least more shiny than the fabric.. in that last photo, they're darker than the main fabric on the left, and lighter than the main fabric to the right. If they weren't metallic/very shiny, they wouldn't do that.
Also, check this out (it's big, click the thumbnail):
Sinister beat me to it, but yeah, lighter broken pinstripes on a satin blue..
