Joker Hexagon Fabric Print Interest

well, it is going to be on a white background boys...it is 100% cotton soooo u could try and dye it if u really really want...I'm hoping to start taking orders once I get the vector and talk with my fabric guy....don't get worried if I'm not on as often or don't always reply to pm's...I have navy training right now and it gets annoying typing on my iPhone

Sorry Ghostsoldier. I too did not mean any disrespect. Your opinion is totally valid. In my own experiences as a costume enthusiast for many years, I can say that every costume I have replicated from a motion picture has always given me this same problem. It's all in the lighting. I also speak from experience, having worked in the "business" that lighting is always complicated and it is always done to make things look the way they want on film. All different from the reality of course. I also thought that it was many different shades during the research portion of making this part of the costume, so I share your pain. However, I have total faith in Kwally, Pinder, Seriana, and all others that have put in thier blood, sweat, and tears to give us all the closest shirt possible. I doubt any of us will be disappointed in the finished product...

Here's to the next phase and the finished material... :cheers

And I'm back from busy race weekend (yes drag racing). I didn't receive the dimensions from the tie pattern until late last night, and this forum was not loading for me at all. I'm going to eat dinner and scale up the pattern. Be back with the info in a few.

Rob,

I'd also consider how the ENTIRE film has a blue hue. That would probably in some way effect how your eyes see that tiny bit of white which is being surrounded by blue. In your mind it would register as "blue" when lets say a white wall would register as "a white wall with blue light on it" just because of the scale and the colors directly around it. I also do see what you guys mean on the interrogation photos, it does look like two blue colors, and looks awesome, but I don't think we ourselves could replicate it and be successful without expensive trial and error.

I still cant find my camera, but anywho the Ties I got from Wal-mart for $10. I was able to alter into a slim 60's style tie with the help of my boss. She's got some true knowledge and skill in Embroidery and Im hoping to have her add an extra touch to my tie with some purple and green embroidery over the original pattern on the tie. Oh and Kwally you been out to Great Lakes yet? I still have some found memories of that base.

Alright, using the dimensions I was given, as well as the known dimensions from my knife, I'm ending up with the inside length of each hexagon side is between 1 1/8" and 1 1/4" or 29 - 32 cm.

For those wanting to make your current ties skinnier, I was told the widest part of the tie is 2 3/4" or 45 cm.

As far as the base color of the shirt... my $.02 is that you can NEVER try to color match off of screen caps or film. The only way to get the right color is to hope the costume will be on display somewhere and that someone gets pics in natural lighting. To me, it looks as though the base color is white, based on the Arclight display. I mean, look at the colors of the real tie. It looks very different on film.

**** thats a pretty tie...my tie on zazzle isnt that color its the screen color...that ties super sexy...to bad they sold out..if they were smart they'd get more of that fabric printed and sell it as the joker tie...except its 175$ for it...im sure someone will make replicas with those colors...the problem is on screen it looks brown like mine

Currently they are waiting for their silk supplier to re-open, should be at the end of the month. When that happens they will be making more. This is what they told me when I called. There is currently a waiting list for those interested.

OKay guys - sorry for a delay I had a laptop issue that I needed to fix or I would have had to remake the vector <_< This vector was very tedious - getting the hexagons in scale and capable of 'snapping' to the grid perfectly - and then turning pinders interpretation into a perfectly symmetrical perfectly evenly spaced design - and figuring out the pattern key - and how to tile it : all of this was a pain - its been worth it.*no worries I didnt lose my work - but I should be sending the vector to the guys tommorow night

Much gratitude for all the hard work Seriana...(y)

The tie bought at Wal-Mart looks a lot like that, the green George one (if that has been posted already, oh well) and I bought two of them. I bought a blue one cause it looked cool, and a green one.

OK, guys and gals...no harm, no foul...:)...I was just stating an opinion, and no offence was taken by me from anyone here. I can share your excitement; like Sinister said, I was just making sure that we were all agreeing on getting the most SA shirt possible; like Wes said, the movie is shot dark anyway, so that's apparently what was affecting my take on the color...and like Kwally said, since it is 100% cotton, I can always dye it light blue if I am not convinced, after the shirt is made.:D

Print on!:D

Sounds great GhostSoldier. I'm glad I didnt offend. Not my intent For sure.
Heres some pics of my costume so far. Sorry they are going to be fairly large. I have shoes, scars, a wig, a pocket watch with silver chain, a airsoft pump action shotty and soon my Hex shirt. all I need is my make up, socks, Purple pants (Eventhough I really like the ones I am Wearing) and the bank robbery mask and Im pretty well set for any weather condition. Yeah I still gotta go through and clean up the stiches a see quite a few dangles. Also the tie I m wearing is the one from Wal mart for 10 bucks which is now a slim tie. I finished it today at work. The tie is tied double loop style. Its going to be Windsor on Halloween and best of all with this costume I have pockets everywhere they should be. No vacant flaps or anything.

Nope I cheated. This costume was made by Loathk from Hong Kong. One of the ebay costume makers. I wish I could've made this myself, but I'm not quite that competent on the Sewing Machine Yet! It cost 124.98 total (79.99 and 40 ship) It came with everything here. I bought it on the 4th or 5th gave them my measurements and they Nailed it!!! I got it in yesterday. So I highly reccomend them. I am going to make my Purple Pinstripe pants though. I want to put together everything else myself. I'm making the nurse costume as well, but anywho Yes i am one button too many, but the vest itself has one too few so It evens out :p. hopefully I'll get to do a full on make up test and clean up the costume soon. I'll post those as well. Thanks again for the praise I was really surprised myself by the quality of the end product and that it came with the Blue Blazer and a pair of gloves as well. Which I have Tiny hands. So they made the gloves a little too big. My fault didnt give them the hand width and finger distances and length.

Just thought of this...

I did this as an experiment before I found this thread. This is 100% white cotton fabric with an iron on transfer using a very old hex pattern. One picture has the flash on and the other does not. Hopefully, through my mistakes, everyone can see a few things. One, the iron on transfers come out rotten and stiff. Two, the white of the material does change in appearance due to the pattern and lighting.

I hope this is a helpful example.

I think our shirts are going to be the best around in every way!!!
