Hey guys just posting my pics...
WHERE DID YOU GET THAT VEST?!
I'm actually the model for the site www.jokerwearhouse.com I bought all my stuff there. The guy is really friendly and ships in time. I REALLY recomend them. Some of the stuff is priced a bit much, but since I bought them he's lowered the price and I cant find any other seller who sells the same quality stuff so....
$110 for suspenders? I'd be surprised if someone actually bought them.
If anyone is looking for a way to make a wallet chain "choker" chains for large dogs work well, and they're fairly cheap. I don't know what style links you need, as far as screen accuracy, but I've worn a wallet chain for years and that's what I used. The chains on wallets that come with one are usually cheap, thin metal and short so I replace them.
HOT TOPIC has a pretty heavy 24" chain for only $6. Here's the link to their online store: http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/sto...=1222446531169
how'd ya'll like my custom Joker shirt Fabric
this has been made 100% cotton iron on transfers useing pinders vector
i made my chain same as pinder i think it was him, bought chain from DIY store & a clip & their ya go..
Well the cotton transfers are very expensive so i pre drew the pattern on the fabric & am only putting the transfers were i need them
just out of my own curiosity, how much have you people spent in time/money thus far on your joker costumes?
hhmm i think i've spent about £200 on my costume roughly maybe more..
Last week with the order of the shoes, purchase of buttons, and some alternate vest back fabric took me over the $400 mark already...and I still need pants and a blazer. Skipping the blazer for Halloween as I don't need anything else causing my makeup to run aside from the desert heat.
Oh, and over $440 if you include two viewings at the regular theatre and one IMAX for the character study. But the fact I'm able to creep everyone out by dropping into character by choice is priceless.
HA HA HA, thats ace.. i just bought my last 2 items, all thats left is to stitch my shirt & im completed PICS soon ^^
any tips on dying a blue overcoat purple? its a bright blue and its 100% pure virgin wool. Any tips or best practices?
wool sucks to dye, i went to the thrift store and found a test subject
white over coat submerged in purple rit dye for 2 days, guess what happened
nothing, i took it out rinsed it off and all the dye came off with the rinse . maybe i did something wrong? but i followed directions salt and all , i also used 4 packs of dye
good thing i already had my actual purple over coat, just got my socks and gloves
time to make my vest. what is the fabric for the vest? is it wool? or some cotton cloth? also have to make the hexo shirt but without materials thus far im gettingnervous to think it wont be coming until late october which would be highly unfortunate
Thanks guys. I actually bought some manic panic hair color. It says "may temporarily dye skin and permanently stain fabrics" lol...seems like what I want. Its just hard to get an even coating . I might just get it done professionally
Hey all you green haired bozos!! Help me out here. My son is going to be Two-Face for Halloween this year. Can somebody help me remember what color was the grip on his revolver? I'm thinking it was pearl. AND if it WAS pearl--any leads on a pearl-handled airsoft??????
It was very... black.
Just saying it before anyone else does... Tabio socks shipped today!
I'm going to have to bail on my plans to play the Clown Prince at Halloween this year. SO I have a number of items I am going to put on ebay tonite. I have: toy grenades, the blue-grey sport coat, a wig, and the piece de resistance--the Direct Knife Sales SCREEN ACCURATE 1600 OTF knife.
Please help a poor boy out and relieve me of these items.
Azspidey on superherohype joker costume thread seems to have nailed the costume , best coat, pants, shoes I have seen. Sorry couldn't provide link, I'm on myipod :] Check out last post on page 308 on that thread.
has anyone checked out hot topic's joker tie? http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/sto...=1222804496663
what do you guys think? it's either that or stafford's
Personally, I think I'd rather have the Stafford tie. It's a REAL tie, so it'll feel and look better, and the pattern is not all that bad.
I have the Hot Topic tie and it's not all that bad for $13. Its rather stiff, and doesn't feel or look all that great. But seeing as I don't exactly have a better option around here, it'll have to do.
My opinion...if you can find the right Stafford tie, go for it. Otherwise, don't let anyone knock you down for getting the HT tie for lack of a better option.
By my calculations, based on the day the order was placed and the quoted production time for the hexagon shirt material...
ONE MORE WEEK TO GO!!!
Hey all - just want to let you now that new braces are out at Bromleys:
Now you can get the white ones with white diamonds and grey/black ones with green diamonds.
I think the white ones are the right choise, just paint the diamonds green with a fabric pencil.
Oh, judgement! How disappointing. Those new braces look nothing like Mr. J's, even allowing for stylistic filters. No where near as iridescent, you know. It looks like they just took the black ones and slapped some green on them. Darn. I wonder if we got a long list of names together -- but there probably isn't enough interest for a mass order of SA braces...
how have people been getting their hands on the vest?! i'm having such a hard time figuring out what to do D=
what size should i order? ive never used braces before i'm 5'7" HELP!!!!!
I believe you measure from where they will hook in the front and over the shoulder to where they hook in the back. I've been known to be wrong though.
I'm 6.2" and I've ordered them in XL -
There are also instructions on Bromleys site, right above:
Braces are measured from the waistband, over the shoulder to where they attach at the back of the trouser.
So t_bone is right
thank you sirs
No P. Good luck!
This has been bugging me so I thought I should post and see what you guys think.
I don't want to offend anyone, so don't take this the wrong way.
I've been wondering why every Joker shirt selling on ebay or fan made is really poorly fitted.. the jokers shirt is ment to be fitted and his trousers are slim fit with slight jack ups :O
I don't understand why some people spend all this money on the look, but when it comes to the fit its baggy and looks abit halloween costume
That said, this is my first post! Hello all!
I have some purple pinstripe fabric. My pants are currently being made. From my estimations based on photos and the size of my own hands, the width between the white stripes(the part that's purple) are about 1/8-1/4 of an inch wider than what they had Heath in. It's a poly/wool blend.
Tomorrow I get my purple cashmere for the overcoat.
Go to steveandbarrys and check out sarah jessica parkers 'bitten' collection. They have purple pin stripe pants with silver stripes in the right shade for VERY cheap they are womens but they look great - They COULD use minor tweaking.
I am a little worried, I haven't heard anything from Kwally and don't know the status of the order of the fabric nor the receipt of payment.
Has anybody heard anything about it?
There have been no major updates yet, as we're still in that 3 week period he said it would take to get done. He's also a very busy guy, so there is no point in updating daily with a, "no news yet" response. All the news I've seen can be found here: http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f32/joker-hexagon-fabric-order-26-yd-27780/
and that's because there were one too many impatient, crybabies whining... have some patience guys. We're getting closer.
Has anyone found any accurate Joker gloves yet? The closest I've been able to find is at Leather Gloves Online. http://www.leatherglovesonline.com/p...d2a-cs4801.htm
The purple gloves have a similar handsewn style stitching to the fingers (though the contrast color of the stitches would have to be corrected), and the color is the right shade, but the button on the back of the wrist is wrong and there's no inner wrist strap. I'd be tempted to pic these up but I'm hesitant to drop over $60 on gloves which aren't 100% screen accurate.
To be accurate they'd have to be that deep purple (technically a "plum" or "grape" color), drop about a half inch past the wrist, have three lines stitched on the back of the hands, a buckled strap on the inner wrist and hand sewn fingers.
So, any leads to proper purple leather joker gloves in a size 8.5?
They don't come in purple, but there are ways to fix that.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but...
TODAY IS THE DAY!
THREE WEEKS HAVE COME AND GONE!
HALLOWEEN IS COMING UP SOON!
ANY UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF OUR ORDER!
I actually am going to receive the test run tomorrow or friday. After the color and scale is approved, it will only take a couple days to print all 400 yards. I will then cut and ship within 24 hours of receiving the fabric. So as of right now, you should be receiving the fabric with ample time before Halloween. Thanks for being so patient guys! This is turning out to be a huge success!

Hey, have someone fix the color problem???Originally Posted by tick-tock

How do you do to change leather gloves' color??
good to hear on the fabric!
also, I found those gloves earlier last week. I've been debating picking them up, but 60 is a bit more than I'd like to spend on gloves. Unless someone chimes in with a surefire way to dye these puppies that is.
http://shop.vendio.com/theprimrosela.../?s=1223462109 because they were the most accurate from this: http://www.myfreewallpapers.net/movi...ight-joker.jpg and hand-stitched the lines. There're also these: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...t_adv_XSG10001
which need some tayloring too. As for the buckles - shoot. never noticed those before. The costume designer for Joker really just wanted to make this difficult for us fanatics. XC
ATTENTION: If you cannot afford the price on these fabrics then I found an alternate route if you don't mind recieving your fabric after halloween. http://spoonflower.com/welcome prints custom fabrics. You can only print 3 yrds or less for $17 a yard (which is NOT bad at all). They are currently in a BETA stage, and I joined their little club thing and ordered my hexagonal fabric. It was shipped yesterday, so I should be recieving my fabric soon. With shipping and everything I don't think I even spent $60. The reason you PROBABLY wouldn't recieve the fabric until after halloween is they are only doing one customer at a time, and I imagine the list is fairly expansive (I joined over a month ago and they just started printing about 2 weeks ago). They only print on one kind of fabric right now, but I can't remember exactly what it was. It's fine to use for shirts though.
Anyway, this was just a heads up. Although you can order up to 3 yards at a time, you can always place more than one order.
Cost from spoonflower = $61.00 for all 3 yards shipped at 42" fabric. On 100% cotton.
cost from kwally on a shirting blend $78.00 for all 3 yards shipped on 62" fabric.
In the scheme of things the difference is definately in the material but its very good pricing!
I will keep them in mind in the furture for other items.
I got the ones from Leather Gloves Online, first of all, they ship REALLY fast, second, I think they are the most screen accurate I've ever seen, all you have to do is use Jacquard's, though I recommend using some black to mix in with the purple, or else the gloves come out way to bright colored. The gloves are amazing though, not just in terms of accuracy, these are just plain old serious quality gloves. Unfortunately, the website is a little misleading about the "removable" wool linings. Yes, they are removable, but the ends of the fingers are sewn in, so you have to turn the leather part inside out and cut the threads. Other than that, however, they're great. Really help add to the intimidation of a 1600 Extractor OTF switchblade
Hey guys, just upgraded my coat with Joker Wearhouse's new orange lined coat... let me know what you think.
YAY got my costume completed FINALLY shirt is an issue if your going for Mega SA but im not that fussed at the mo
OKay I'm posting these here because it doesnt appear most people bother checking the other thread and I would like feedback. If this is a problem I'll remove the other one somehow.
These are the scars that I scrapped. "good enough for government work" though. The points I am aware of: 1) The edge is visible... I used too much silicone so the edge was too thick. 2) the white isnt thick enough because I forgot the pattern of expressions I'd used in earlier tests. And if I thickened it up anymore I'd lose detail so I made it more interrogation-y.
Let me know What you think.
"This is how crraaazzzy batmans made gotham..."
But I was also sort of hesitant on replying because I didn't want to seem like a noob, but where does one get silicon to make the prosthetics with? I really want to try that.
fxwarehouse was running a sale the other month on silicone so I snagged a bunch. But they seem reasonable and thanks ^_^
Wow, thank you so much. Seeing as I'm able to do the makeup ON my boyfriend, it makes it easier than those of you who have to do it on themselves so I cant take all the credit, there (not to mention my boyfriend happens to somewhat resemble ledger). I will say, though that the trick with the scars is having a silicone MOLD as well. It's flexible enough to conform to the face easily and it keeps all of the detail of the original sculpt. Although silicone will adhere to itself dish soap prevents this very well. Also - on this take I didnt prepaint the scars to match the flesh fully before applying the makeup.
As for if thats what it really looked like... heres a couple more.
They are VERY slightly desaturated, I was trying to figure out what red I needed as most halloween makeup reds are orange based, when it should be a neutral or blue based red.
As for the basic makeup its JUST ****** cream makeup from the tube. You have to work with it fast, though. I DO prefer my creamier makeup for most other applications and will probably try several others before I settle on a final technique.

Guys, I'm getting pretty stressed about this as well because I REALLY REALLY want to get this to you on time!!! I also don't want to be stuck with a couple thousand dollars worth of fabric....but I'm a man of my word and if you want a refund, I'll gladly give it. I'm going to do my best to get this to you SOON. Right now, I'm sorry to say that my guarantees have gone out the window. The communication with my fabric contact was terrible for 3 weeks prior to printing. Unfortunately, if he would have called me back, I would have shipped the fabric last week! I'm pretty frustrated as well guys! Remember, I'm really not "selling" this to you. I just decided to organize it. My main objective was to get fabric for myself as well! Stay tuned guys! I hope to give you good news!
Is this all part of the plan?
But otherwise Spoonflower did and excellent job keeping me up to date with my fabric and had it printed and mailed to me in 2 days. It only took about 4 days from the moment they told me they were working on it for it to get to me, which was awesome. The material is thick (so I won't have to wear an undershirt of anything) but light (thank god because the frock coat is HEAVY).
Because the pattern I had wasn't completely screen accurate and because I don't need the fabric by halloween anymore and have months to make the second shirt I believe I may order the material from here (just an idea at this point) because Kwally, man, I don't want you to be stuck with all those spare yards of this expensive fabric either. $78 just seems a lot at this point though, so give me a little time to think it over.
Hey guys/gals, kinda been lurking around here for a while and decided to register here. Everyones costumes are looking great! So as I was reading through the thread I saw my name mentioned so I figured for those of you that have not seen my costume I would post up some pics.
AZ-spidey I tried to register on superherohype but I never got my approval email. I wanted to ask I see that you went with a pleat in the back of the coat. I have been bashing my head against the wall trying to figure it out but somehow think I wont know for absolutely sure how it all goes together until the DVD or blu-ray comes out in december...
Did you have a good picture of back reference that lead you to that decision? to me the back center panel greatly resembles a frock coat with a deep pleat.
THis is the first toy I've ever tried to make. Joker Sackboy!!!! http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i.../joeker002.jpg
Very, Very Nice Job AZSpidey...
Killer costume Spidey! How did you go about making the shoes? Also, is the coat wool you dyed or found?
Thanks for all the kind words. For the shoes, if you want to know how I made them I have a build thread I started on a how to.
On the coat, I dont have any pleats in the back. I actually have 4.... yes I said 4 tails.
I used this pic here to determine the back.
I might be wrong, but I like the way my coat came out.
I'm not going anywhere. I'm in till the end and still holding out hope...
I would even pay extra for overnight delivery if it helps...
Thanks for keeping this alive for all us Jokers...
Keep it up Kody...

*points to you guys*
Dude... that looks AMAZING.
I have 2 questions - first does anyone have a good referance picture of the buttons on the sleeve of his frock coat? I know the front buttons are a dark purple, but they look like they might have a pad or fabric of some sort in the center:
I got the impression that the buttons on his sleeve were padded buttons (the far left one that's pink)
2nd question: I have no more reason than a hunch to think of this, but it makes sense if you think about the Joker's taste in clothes. Does anyone suppose he wears sock suspenders?
Also, I guess I have a 3rd quetsion here. When the Joker dresses as the nurse he's clearly wearing different socks - they are plaid and colorful. (I honestly thought those would be the socks that'd be famous, not the interrogation scene socks). Can anyone get a high-rez shot of those socks? It'd be super helpful. Thank you!
He obviously dosnt wear them as the nurse, but possibly. the Nurse Joker socks just look like plain black tube socks to me. Does anyone have any pics that can even come close to showing his legs and feet in that scene coming outta the hospital? He still wears the same shoes though from what I can tell.
He does seem like the kind of guy, but I have the actual Tabio socks, and after comparing them to some of the interrogation pictures, I can tell that the checkers would be stretched a lot higher if he were wearing sock suspenders. Believe me, I've put the socks on and stretched them to their complete length... and they looked NOTHING like the pictures. You kind of have to put the bottom foot parts on all the way, then gently pull up the length of the sock until they're just barely stretched fully.
I know that kind of sounded like incoherent nonsense, but trust me, it helps with SA.
i fixed the wig..this is my final makeup test, their are a few pointers to be changed but i think its looks pretty cool
the scars are made from liquid latex & tissue, their stuck to my face with spirt gum & a thin layer of liquid laex roudn the edges to seal them on my face, hurt like a ***** takign them off LMAO!!
i need more expression lines & i need to smudge the red a bit more i think :-)
Anyone hear any new news about the fabric arrival???
Dude...tone it down....It is not necessary for the large font and multiple posts
