Joker Hexagon Fabric Print Interest

To QUOTE the joker

" - and this suit WASNT cheap. You should know, after all, you bought it."

"Clothings all custom, no labels."

I think these prices are pretty fair considering it is, AFTERALL, custom, almost, if not, screen accurate fabric. Have you seen what some people are asking for the poo they are posting on ebay lately? BTW any word on width yet?

I need 3 yards.

I think anyone here really planning to make a good Joker Costume needs to understand, even if you bought all the fabric, patterns, lining, buttons, interfacing, thread, tie, shoes, gloves, wallet chain, makeup, socks, joker cards etc. and made everything yourself, you should expect to be spending $300-$400 for a full costume (on the more accurate side).

Kwally,

I'm still in bro, thanks for doing this!

Quick question though, and one that I'm pretty sure is on everyone's mind, how many yards will make a shirt? Like I said before, I had 4 yards to do a flightsuit and that was more than enough.

Now there are postings that 2 to 3 yards is needed for a shirt [only], so I'm gettin a little worried on yardage. And the fact that my bud would like some as well and he's alot bigger than I am.

Can anyone seriously enlighten my mental burden here? Thanks!

Stay safe,

Tim.

There was some talk in this thread about Joker voice. I have a sample now (horrible quality... too lazy to do it in my studio.) I do a pretty **** good impression of Chuckles though... i think my joker is OK... I'll let you decide...

I just looked at the back of a packet of patterns I have that includes a dress shirt pattern. It said that I would need about 2 1/2 yards if the material was 60". Now if the material that we'll be using will be 60", and I can just make the back of the shirt with plain material and get away with 2 yards of this, I might still be in.

I really don't want to be the cause of a price increase :(, so I'm trying my best to stay in.

Yeah mondo don't ruin this for the rest of us! ;) You can definetly get away with doing only the front. I wonder if you can even do this with one yd if you made the back and arms similar to the navy/purple color design. Although if you want to take the coat off I'd do the arms also. 2yds should be plenty if that's the idea.

I've thought of that but I'm anal as hell so I'll go for the 3 yds and do the whole thing. Although really its only worth it if you wear it outside of the joker persona, like a wacky dress shirt in the office or something..

This is a deal after looking into it more and talking with my mom..(yeah im 29 but she's still my momma!) She's been into fabric prints and banners for yrs. I doubt we'll get a lower price so go with this. You'll regret it if you don't..

BTW I made a post on another board where we have a dark knight thread going. Hopefully I can snag a person or two as it looks like we'll be short with the 70 odd people that initially showed interest..

Kwally, just for the record pal, I'm still in.

I'll be going for an XL shirt so if someone can pin down the correct yardage for me, I'm in for that.

Keep up the good work, this thread is awesome!!!

Maybe this will help...

Ok, guys! I have some updates. I talked with one of my contacts last night for quite some time, and I have a way to get 15% off the original price. If I purchase 50 yds a week, it will free up their machines for clients that need the 400-500 yds immediately. Sooo, how this will work...My contact makes up a swatch for me (just a sample for me to ok), production on the first 50 yds gets rolling, I receive first 50 in about 2 weeks, and an additional 50 every week or so...approximately...the thing is most of you guys want this before Halloween. I'm going as Boba for Halloween sooo I just want this for my Joker mannequin. For this to work, I'd need to get a list of everyone who needs this before Halloween. This would drop the price to $29-30 per yard shipped. That includes shipping which is going to be $40 from the printer to me and x amount to each of you guys. I'm still shooting for 400 or so yards as most people want 3,6, or 8 yards. The fabric is going to be 65-35 and 44" wide.

I also am going to talk to my OTHER contact in about 45 minutes. This is the company that I have been talking with the vice president. He just emailed me from his blackberry stating their email system has been down. Sooo, I'll try and weasle a good quote out of him. I'm guessing this is going to be even more expensive than the other company thought:(

i need it for halloween..i need enough for a medium shirt which im thinking is 3yds hopefully sound right?? and were going with penders design and my coloring? or maybe i need 4 for just incase gaaah this is annoying not knowing how much i need lol but i def wanna be on that before halloween shipment

I DO NOT need my fabric in a timely manner! It'd be preferable to have it BY october for use in November, though. But I dont need it FOR halloween.

u get the first 50 in 2 weeks...were looking at the start of september..if all goes according to that proposed plan..you should have all your 400yds by the first like 2 weeks or so in oct. and it doesnt take that long to make a shirt...so it might just work out....depending on where in the list you are for your fabric...

Right now I count around 150yds confirmed with my own purchase...this isn't going to cut it...well, I guess that some people haven't pm'd or posted for a while. I might make a new thread once I decide which company and price to go with. The new thread will be strictly for orders as this is getting a bit crazy!

GUYS! I just got off the phone with the other contact and....I can't believe the price quote! The quote is $20 a yard!!! This is awesome, and it is a direct digital print to the fabric. There is a $150 color match and fabric sample fee, but that is no problem. The vice president told me that I could have all 400-450 in hand in less than 3 weeks! The $20 a yard doesn't include the price of the base fabric, but he said that i could get it or he could. Alright, it also isn't ideal to print on 65-35 fabric because the cotton and polyester print processes are different. He said an 80-20 or 90-10 would be ideal. With that being said, I figured that cotton rich would be the best bet (80% cotton and 20% polyester), or would it be smarter to go with poly rich?? This one I don't know. He said that going poly rich would get me the fabric in probably 2 weeks. Lemme know what you think. I hope this draws the other guys back in...this is an amazing deal guys!
