IronMan 2 MKV "Extremis" Costume build 2009 W.I.P.

Hi everyone I'm Anthony Le, some may probably know me. Iron Man 2 is slowly approaching and i've seen the MKIV, but more that interested me is the Iron Man MKV, rarely seen any leaked photos. I am at task in tackling the first MKV Suit. so hopefully to wear on Halloween and for Iron Man 2 movie release. also be going to comic-com 2010
i recently done War Machine Hybrid of the MKIII and the Phil Saunders design together. Also won the costume contest from Wizard magazine issue 217.

Without further ado Here are my progress of my Iron Man MKV W.I.P., once base is finished then will tweak for final look and functions. enjoy please leave comment and what not ^.^

Doood, I am very glad you got use out of "My Tech" in the form of the compression articulation tutorial I sent to you in good faith in exchange for the helmet visor hinge system... which I am incidentally still waiting for.

what are you talking about i came up with design, you only sent my the elbow. plus your elbow tech doesn't work for mines just by looking at it.

That elbow tech, as you say) is pretty much what has been in play since Henry VIII's field armour right up to and including the Iron Man suit. Just funny that you "Discovered" it after I sent you all the details on how to execute compression articulation as well as the external shell articulation (for elbows and knees) the latter of which you say you are about to attempt.
Hint: When a person gets ideas from people, it is typically traditional to credit them at least in some minor way, shape or form.

Regardless, keep going and learn lots

yeah... in this case i dident get the idea from you, i already had proto type going on. your was just more info i dident needed. Not to be a dick or anything. im the type of person who think and theore do what i know. not from what people give ideas from. I learned how to make armor myself, and costume as well. No one helped me and and i will continue to be the one that doesent need help. If someone waht to show info or what not sobe it. i'll may skim it fast, but probably wont use it because im a knuckle head like that. I like to figure things out myself and create works of art. , the iron man suit is made to look, not actual function, if you read the Phil Saunders, and Adi Granov, stated that they made it to look like it would actually work/function, but did not. On another note i made it to work from my previously proto types, reason in the dented helmet thread you found me working on the war machine armor, i was not done creating. therefor you would assume that i would use the articualtion you sent me, when in doubt i had a prototype in the work, and just needed to be completed. Since i did not finished it in time you assume that i used your when i tryed to explain i did not HINT HINT.

wow Russ its been while, yeah some guy claiming things about my armor and helmet. yeah someone wanted to know the hinge system from way back. "oh yeah stating about my own design, i meant the arm covers for my iron man. just to clarify anything that might be mis-understood. " so i show him one of the system along time ago. if you don't want me to use it i can take it off.

any new work or projects?

well you have to use clay first to sculpt your helmet. if your good at mold making you can use your clay sculpt mold.

steps to make your helmet.

a lot of reference pictures "hot toys, and movie screens are way to go."

-buy a foam head "save on buying clay"
-i like air drying clay works best for me.
-pre-soak it in warm water "helps to blend the clay together easier"
-they have some cheap clay sculpting tools at hobbie store, sometimes at walmart.

just start carving until you get the basic shape. nothing cant be fixed with more clay.

-after your done getting your desired results
-start molding

you can use urethane plastic liquid or fiberglass. honestly i would use liquid resin.

As far as new stuff, I just started a new sculpture based on the movie Avatar. Just posted a thread about it. check it out. And I recently completed a Michael Jackson thriller zombie bust, and a life size taun taun taxidermy head.

just look at the avatar sculpt. it wicked! after my last iron man build "stealth armor" im going to sculpt me a gundam wing helmet don't know which version just yet maybe heavy arms custom. with all servo controlled missile pods and etc.

exactly, but the guy who kept persisting to show more pictures wouldn't understand, and couldn't respect that. there just trade secret people don't like to reveal.

Liquid Resin I think is rather expensive, any others material which is more cheapers??

new helmet v2.0 and motorized face plate v3.0. test fitting the new helmet with the new motorized system. i put off the motorized jaw for now. got to get the other new motorized armor things done "motorized missile gauntlet, motorized gauntlet shield, motorized flight stabilizers, and motorized boot jet Mech".

Hey Master Le, I found this ref online and thought of you. I'm amazed at all your really hard work. It not a comment on your sources or effort I just thought you may want this for future reference. I like your suit, It's creation is pure genius. many builders construct on hundreds if not more of references and still they build these rigid bulky messes because they dont breakdown the real world mechanics like you have. a fibreglass shell or pepakura model is neat but can you bend your arms or stop for a corona in the suit. Hell no. Kudos to you on this. You're a poorman's Tony Stark for sure. People ***** out of jealous and spite because the need you to prepare a DIY instructional video for them with documentation and templates. F**k'em. It's nice to know you're up all night mashing these suits and the rest are up all night wondering how you did it. peace bro.

Awesome! The only thing you should do is have separate shoulders from the chest and use that flex plate thing for your Knees. Though I have to say this is the best costume I have seen!

Ybleesh since you are friends with Buxzzix friend you should know of his Paper-Mache method. Take newspaper and glue it on. Though you should just spend money on the resin and netting because it is MUCH stronger.

Your attention to detail is strikingly good. You have a real talent for mechanical problem-solving. It doesn't matter where the ideas came from originally, it still takes skills to build it and make it work.
Once your Iron Man projects are finished, I hope you'll also apply your skills to other subjects.

Really good job and for those who insult please look at yourself whether u can do better than him before u talk.(people who like to insult other people when they cant even do it are born by accident) nice job for the war machine too!anthony what motor did u use for the helmet i really need to find one for mine
