Iron Man Heavy Artillery Armor

Darth Sean

New Hunter
Iron Man Heavy Artillery Armor is a Iron Man suit I feel fits my body very well. Im a big guy that loves Iron Man, and I really want to make a Iron Man Costume, but I know that the Mark 3 suit wont look right on me due to my size. I found a Iron Man toy at Target. I just had to buy it. It was the Heavy Artillery Armor. The suit looks so cool. I felt like it would make the perfect Iron Man suit for me. So I started to make it into a costume.

Im making this suit for Anime Expo and Comic Con in July of 09. So I have lots of time. I want to post pix to show my progress. Please Let me know what you think.

Im making it out of cardboard, Foam board, bondo, and fiberglass

Great work mate! Please keep us posted on the progress. Are you shooting for as much flexibility as you can get or concentrating on accuracy? I know it's often a tough split.

WOW!! Thats totally awesome!! amazing start!

If you dont mind sharing, did you make the helm/chest plate from a template or from eyeballing them? If from template, where did you find it? :confused

I really love the "shoulder pads". How did you attach them? They limit mobility any? Im just curious because I was planning similar shoulder pads for my own custom mando armor. It is planned to be a "heavy artillery" model as well! ;)

Can't wait to see more! Please keep us updated. (y)

See now this is what I love to see! I've always been a huge fan of the cartoon series toys that all have special tribute's like the hulk buster, stealth, or space suit and this totally reminds me of them. Love to see the final product;).

Thank You everyone for the positive comments. I never used Bondo before I am happy that my costume is coming out as good as it is. I dont think Ill make the gun cannon on the back. This armor have very limted maneuverability, and I think it will be very hard to walk around in a crowd of people. I am going to put this on at comic con. Plus Im also making War Machine And I got A big Gathling gun on that. Here is a pic of the War Machine im making

Hi Darth!

Very awesome building start! The big weapon on your back is the best!

The heavy armor fits very well to your body! Is that your arm who is coming out of the chest armor or is it your thigh?!

You are spending much time with fitness equipment - right? ;) :D

Very impressive work !!! One of the best new Iron man builds I've seen in some time. (y)

That is one seriously cool Iron Man suit, the figure you posted. I love how you found one that fits your body size, so you can still be Iron Man! I'll keep watching your progress thread with interest! :)

Mega Iron Man! That's something I cant wait to see completed !

Keep up the good work.

P.S.: How much will this thing weigh after it is complete?
