Help on my E-11

I just got a kit in the mail today to make my Hasbro E-11 look more authentic. This would be the first mod I ever done so I could use some help.
My first question would be, what would I use to attach the pieces to the rifle? Would regular super glue do the trick or do you guys use something different to make sure they stay on? Second, I'm pretty sure you have to use paint especially for plastics, but would I have to use Primer first? Any help would be very appreciative.

hi im freddy, i did mine with some bolts and crazy glue. use bolts in places u can't see that much ,then around or after u thread the hole put some glue to reinforce. to painted ,clean the resin and the gun (E 11) with some sope and water ,damp cloth better, then dry . i recommend u sandit just a bid ,the resin parts with some 400 sand paper. about the primer if u want a job well done go for it, but no matter what if u dropit or scratchit its going to be the same thing so just go with some good paint brand crylon for plastic and give it like 3 good coats ; that sould be fine unless u alredy have the primer. good luck oh and dont paint the side your going to glue to the E 11 ,the ones that are going to have contact with the plastic or it will grip the paint of.

i'm fond of Goop myself (it's a brand name of glue available at hardware stores). it bonds well and is rubbery, so it doesn't snap on impact.

i'd assemble it all then paint.

make sure to clean the resin parts well as they may have mold release on them, which will prevent paint from sticking. a few coats of a good primer can't hurt.

I used epoxy to glue all the pieces, and then an all-surface primer. On top of that I used a regular black rattlecan paint. Works as a charm after several troops, nothing is coming loose or flaking. :)

How would I know whether or not that the pieces would have mold release on them? I suppose that I would just wash them with soap and water?

For your tip you're gonna need a dremel to take the orange safety cap off.. If you do it right, you can leave the LED inside so that when you pull to trigger (assuming you add batteries) it will light up when fired. Just make sure to use clear coat after your black layers! If you don't, it will come off on your armor. My bud's TK now has slight black wrist scars.. :p
