this thread on cosplays website but it isnt of great help to me. It seem that this person used some sort of 3D template program for his mock up's but he doesn't say what programe .

I just need alot of help and I'm hopeing that their is someone on this web site that can help. (I've gone through ALOT of sites.) (btw i know this is a site for the almighty bobba, jango and the clone army but i saw iron man threads so i thought this one cant hurt .)

Have you considered building a clay model of the armour on a mannequin and then moulding it from latex/silicone. This is the method that I'm using for Thades armour, I used a fibreglass subsitute to make the casting (jesmonite).

Then please help us to help you. What is your budget for the project? How much space do you have to work with? (ie: 2 car garage, a balcony, kitchen table?)

I have a 1 car garage and a rather large room that il be doing alot of the work in, and alot of tools lol, I have been doing some research and i have decided to construct a "mook up." i found a 3D modeling programe called "Metasequoia" that im going to be using. I'm most likely going to be using some sort of craft foam or cardboard and resin. I now need to know how

    a. how to use it (tough one.)

    b. i've seen people use like images to form the 3D model on the computer [http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/attac...&d=1219295864]

(also my budget is ... very lax I can get money of the parents lol HOPFULLY lol.)

You won't need a huge amount of workspace or clay, I'm using klean klay that can be reused over and over again. My workspace is a small office in my house.

I posted this in your other topic, it looks like this is the "correct" one though so here's what I said.

The program that's almost always used for paper/cardstock building is Pepakura Designer/Pepakura Viewer. The designer is used to "unfold" 3D models, which can then be printed onto heavyweight paper, cut out, and glued together. then comes a long process of resin, fiberglass, sanding, and repeating, usually with some Bondo thrown in for good measure (obviously nasty stuff for your lungs unless you use the right safety equipment... you don't want your actual voice to sound just like Grievous)

If you haven't seen examples, http://skipspepakuracostumes.blogspot.com/ sells quite likely the most impressive models I've ever seen (and according to the side of the page, Skip does commissions too!) One of the first things listed there at the time of this post is a snow clone helmet he modeled, unfolded, printed, and assembled.

The owner of/guy who does all the work for that site is a member here, so if you PM him (or he finds this topic), I believe he'll be willing to help in more detail.

One other thing: The place with the most info on this method is probably the 405th forums. They're based on Halo, but have a lot of general info on Pepakura armor.

Hopefully this helped teach you some things you didn't already know!
