Gelcoat: Which method do you prefer?

So the question is simple. When on a budget and looking for a way to fiberglass an item...how do you apply the base of gelcoat? Brush on? Spray on? Which is easiest and which products work best?

Does he sell gelcoat? I didn't see any. Also I see that the products in red are cheaper. Which of the 2 types of epoxy resin is the one to use?

John Greer, is one of the nicest people I have met. I buy exclusively from him since he is local, and his products are just awesome!

Go to www.fiberglast.com . They sell really good gelcoat. I use their gelcoats in conjunction with Johns Epoxy Resins. If you want to use fiberglass, I reccomend buying the ones in green. The ones in red are not good at all for laying up glass.

For fiberglass, I would reccomend a very low viscous resin, as the fiberglass cloth or mat, or whatever you use, will soak up the liquid easier and in greater quantities.

So I contacted greer and he stated that for a helmet and gelcoat, to use polyurethane resin. He says he does not sell this. Any thoughts?
