Full boba fett build over time with a noob.

Do you have pictures of your mold? I'm just curious how others set set up their molds.

Hi mr Ralfskunk! im waiting for my silicone to arrive but as soon as it arrives and its been made in to a mold i will post pics of it! love your death watch helmet by the way!

Thanks! It's a pretty cool feeling to build these things from scratch and have them turn into your favorite shelf topper. I look forward to seeing yours come together as well. Until then, enjoy the build!

That looks like the cleanest scratchbuilt helmet I've ever seen.

Now that was a really nice thing to say! thank you so much!

it is a really nice feeling! im just wating for the feeling of it to be done and painted.. i know myself and that will probably take me another year :/..

yeah what can i say. didnt mold it yet had some things i had to do before:

bild 5 (1).JPG borden :)
bild 1 (1).JPG installed and ready!
bild 3 (2).JPGmaking theese mo*her*uckers a little bit more acurate.. still need the slight slope on the upper bit of it.
bild 4 (1).JPGmaking the dent more "screen acurate" still rounding it off and smoothing it out a bit.
bild 2 (1).JPGand im making one of theese :)

after i finished with theese parts and added the damage to the helmet ill prime, wetsand, paint in blackgloss paint, and wax it then it will be ready for silicone!
if anybody likes this bucket and think hey i want one! i will be selling them for a really nice price! ill cast them in polyutherane harts layered with a fiberglassmat. they will be available in cold cast aswell. this is if i can get a nice mold of it.

thanks for laying your eyes on this page! let me know what you think!

That helmet is so clean! i love the super sculptey idea, it really gave you some crisp edges. I might have to take that idea for my second jetpack build!

Hi Mrdickjones! To hear positive feedback from you means a lot I've seen your work and think its fantastic so thanks a lot! :) yea the sculpey was a good idea but it's to fragile when it's hard so I've practiced my milliputing and I think that stuff is great now! It cures really hard and you can drill and sand it really we'll so try that instead! Keep an eye here cause a lot off stuff has happened!
I'll post an update later :)

so guys!
a big update here! illl let the pics speak for me mostly:
bild 2 (1).JPGdid the dent as close to the moviebucket as i could.

bild 1 (1).JPGprimed and wetsanded the helmet
bild 3 (2).JPGgave it some shiny blackgloss paint and clearcoated it.
bild 1 (3).JPGbrushed on 2 siliconelayers
bild 2 (3).JPG
bild 4 (3).JPGmade a matrixmold. (i have previously made a glassfiber shell of a clayed up helmet. put some pucks of silicone on the layers of silicone as a divider to make the helmet float inside the glassfiber and then poured the rubber.)
bild 5 (1).JPGdid a coldcast of it.
bild 2 (2).JPGfitted a visor (homemade)

Wow. You have done some crazy good work so far.

You really think so? thanks brother!

You have some real talent! Very impressive from start to finish! I look forward to seeing some paint on that badboy

yeah that paint scares me alot. gonna stydy tecniques and alot of threads and reference before i even think about that :) thank you mrdickjones for the very kind words and for the inspiration you have given me!

100%. I finished my pep right around the time Anime Fan started doing runs of his budget bucket. I had my pep resined about to start on the bondo, and was like "Eh, screw it. I'll just buy AF's dome", so I really admire people who go through the entire process of scratch building the Boba bucket.

haha probably what i should have done aswell. smart move . this build has cost me a lot of money and a lot of time. but i really enjoy the building. thanks again for the encouraging words!

Just found this thread. Amazing work. I also used the Firefek pep files and am not nearly as finished as you, so I do hope mine comes out half as good as yours. Same problem with that right ear though. Debating whether to cut it off or finish it as-is, use it for a while, then buy a more accurate bucket down the road.

I like the helmet...but is it just me or is the dent on the wrong side of the helmet? Is that caused by a reflection?
