    Fettpride?

Has anyone heard anything from FP? I've sent some pm's and emails and haven't heard back. I thought that he had some family stuff going on, so I'm just curious as to how everything is going. Also about how much does his armor cost, is it similar to bobamakers's prices?

Are you trying to stir the pot? There has been a lot of tension over TDH due to fettpride...now I am neither on one side or the other....but this thread could easily turn into a hostil rant against him... Good luck getting answers

    Re: Fettpride?

Haven't bought from either of them recently but I've found that FP's prices are generally lower...especially if you live in north america (shipping and duty). I have a BM bucket which I love and I think my FP gauntlets were my first Fett purchase and I absolutely love them as well. I generally find FP is slowish to get messages from but he does reply....he's just very busy most of the time.

The last thing I've heard from FP is that he suffered a personal loss and need some time for himself.

I stick with that explanation and hope the best.

Im not trying to "stir the pot." I was just asking if anyone had heard from him. I am just beginning a build and was looking into getting some armor pieces. I heard from BM and just wanted some price comparison information. BM's stuff looks awesome, but the cost including paint and shipping is a bit steep for me right now. I see that Wickedbeard makes armor, but there doesn't seem to be many people that have seen or owned his stuff so the jury is still out on whether I will go with him or not. Like I said, I'm not looking to make trouble, just trying to get some information.

He was actually in the process of moving locations as well, so he may need to get setup before being able to answer your messages and such

    Re: Fettpride?

Last I asked him for his v4 armor coming out soon. The armor kit includes all chest pieces, collar, back, shoulders, knees, knee darts (resin) and kidney plate, as well as green visor material for the chest lights, and center insert for the chest diamond. Total of $370 shipped. Hope that helps.

"The v.4 is suited for anyone under 5'10 (within reason) and is also the first armor offered that is based on the "actual" screen used armor so it is the most accurate in size anyway. Most people don't understand how small the real Fett parts actually are. Most have been under the impression that all his pieces are WAY oversized. And it's simply not the case. For someone 5'6 through 5'9 it should be perfect as Lon as your body shape is slender to medium build. If you're REALLY stocky I might recommend the v.3." - Chris from Fettpride

I'm 6'4" and 230 so that size probably won't fit me.

    Re: Fettpride?

Actually, the V3 was based off of the actual screen used armor.

    http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f25/f...ion-3-a-22811/

From what i understand the v4 is just some more tweaks to make it closer to the info they got back then for the V3. I believ the size is the same, as they got measurements from the actual armor at C4..cant see how that would change :P

But back onto the point of this thread...FP is still super busy, and had a personal matter as well (and moving as previously mentioned) It may be a little bit before he's back on track. He usually takes a little bit to respond to e-mails, but does get back to you. Im interested in a GMH helmet, but im waiting till he is caught up for the most part and back on a normal schedule.

Thats odd, from what I know, the fett suit was built on/for a big guy (i cant remember his name) who was 6'1 or 6'2. There is a video clip of the suit when it is all white in the super trooper config, with this guy in the suit, and the parts look fine on him. There should be no reason the parts would be too small for someone 6,0-6,4.

Actually he is right about the V4 being smaller, similar to the GMH being smaller then what we previously thouoght was the correct size, like Chris said about the V4 its supposed to be smaller, IMHO the V3 is oversized. For me @ 5'11 180 its to wide, almost to long as well...the pre-pro was on a skinny dude the SE was on a larger guy. The MOW pack is HUGE in comparison to what it shouold be sized...so are the gauntlets they hang off my arms, I think the V4 will be alot better in size then what were used to. I think alot of people will be amazed at what we see when it is the norm.

Really? huh. Well i dont disagree that the v4 will be smaller, im just saying that according to that thread i linked to, they took measurements and pictures to get it as "accurate as possible". Seems odd they would make it larger than the measurements they obtained and then say it was the absolute closest there could be. The v3 is smaller than every other armor ive seen at this point. But if he now says the v3 is larger than the screen used, id like to see the v4 compared to the v3. Im a smallish guy, at 5'8" but im a little stocky at the moment..i need to drop a few pounds...still lol.I think the V3 fits me pretty well, (see my avatar)but once the V4 is available id like to see a comparison shot

As for the MOW pack, i didnt think it was THAT much larger than the screen used. Does anyone have measurements of the screen used? I feel when i look at reference pics the pack looks about right, maybe only a tad larger than it should be.

MOWs gauntlets are also smaller than everyone elses, and i think they are very close to screen used size, aside from the deeper bottoms to accommodate different sized people.

Honestly id like to know what the screen used sizes are, as i do plan to offer gauntlets, a jetpack, and armor in the future and would like to make them as accurate as possible.

    Thanks for the insight bud.

Heilman photos have a ruler next to the pack BFUKs pack next to a MOW pack is noticably different in size, unless he modded the guants in recently they were quite large and needed a good bit of padding to keep them in place.

What us guys at C4 were able to do was take a buttload of pictures. The V3 armor set was designed from that but was increased in size to account for a wider spectrum of people. The MOW pack is very close to the SU packs in size.

I have MOW gauntlets and I dont think they're big at all I'm not a muscle man by any stretch but they barely close on my forearms.

Ah! See in that old FP post he implied photos and measurements were taken, but never said they were increased in size, but that makes sense why FP would do that. If he always has the V3 and the V4 available, i think that that would be ideal.

Same here. I also have seen a few others in person and MOWs were smaller than all of them. He did recently increase the depth of the bottoms, for the same reasons, fitting to a wider range of people, but thats not incredibly noticeable and can be trimmed a bit to make em smaller.

Mine were from 2009 and can say theyre to large for a normal arm, it possible there are larger gaunts but the MOW were to large for me. The V4 gaunts should be smaller then those.

Didn't MOW remake his gauntlets in 2010, making them smaller and more screen-sized?

Thats what I heard too. The newer ones at 9.5 inches for the left gauntlet and 8.5 for the right ( length ). There was a comparison picture somewhere of the older MOW gauntlets next to ruffkins and fettpride gauntlets but I could be wrong. The older MOW gauntlets were I think 12 inches long for the left gauntlet.

    Re: Fettpride?

Both the same at 9.5" for the left gaunt. I actually have both here to compare. Left/painted is the '09, unpainted the 2010

He did however make the depth of the bottoms a bit larger on 2010's

It would be fairly easy to determine the correct size of the gaunts as we know the keypad is a found part and know the size. So we can figure out the size of the gauntlets from screen caps. I will tackle that as soon as i can. But i think length/width wise, the MOW's are pretty spot on. the depth is likely deeper to accommodate various peoples arm size. I think when i offer gaunts, i may make 3 sets of bottoms sm, med, lrg, so i can accommodate a good range without too much "flop around" space.

    Re: Fettpride?

ok i got 9.35" as a measurement for the SU gauntlet length, going by the size of the calculator pad which is 1.25".(front to back) So MOW's are just a tad larger. Id say a negligible amount. So id say the MOW's are screen accurate size.

Well I have given up trying to get into contact with Chris. It seems the only way to contact him is through Facebook, which I do not have an account with. PMs emails and nothing, I know he is busy but it seems like he only deals with well respected members of this form and since I am new, I guess I don't matter to him. I've gotten quick responses from BM and he is probably just as busy. While I don't agree with the ranting that slave1pilot did, which got him banned, I do see first hand why he said what he said. I know I'm a new guy, but I just want to be dealt with in a way that I deal with others. Darth Vorhees can attest to be being good to deal with, so if anyone wants to ask him be my guest.

With the risk of sounding cynical, those not using ebay can't buy from ebay sellers either. I don't see the problem. It's up to the seller to choose where he or she wants to do business or communicate trough.

I guess since he doesn't answer emails sent from his own website and PMs from this site, I figure the only way to buy parts from him is to friend him on Facebook. Oh well, I will stick with bobamaker since he answers emails.
It would have been nice to get parts from him since he is in the states, it would have saved me some cash on shipping.

I understand that it feels bad to not get what you want. But then he looses out on your money as well. A friend of mine wanted a TM stormtrooper kit, but didn't get any response so he went with RS instead and had his kit within a month.

Depending on how much of a rush you're in for your costume and if you have your heart set on talking to FettPride, I'd wait. because his products are amazing. However, there's always some V3 armour going for sale in the Cargo Hold.
