FedEx broke my blaster =(
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
How well was it packaged?
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
I'd also wait on trying to fix it until you hear back from fedex.
What I've seen Japanese modelers do is draw a cross across on each of the two ends and where the lines intersect, drill and insert a pin in one half.
this gives an extra bit of rigidity. This won't work too well on the trigger guard, though as it's so thin.
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
I know this doesn't help but we have had a string of broken packages from shippers lately USPS is the worst. I didn't expect this from FE. Are they hiring gorillas these days?
I second Muad'Dib though. I have seen the technique where you make grooves like stitches on skin and fill the gouge with resin. He's right about the thinner areas. I recently had to fix my OSCS Bucket. USPS cracked it.

not terribly well... but it still should not have all broken in the middle like that. they must have dropped a box on the center of the box. i guess the fragile stickers are targets =/

yes i am going to wait to see what fedex says. I'm just curious if anyone else has ever had to fix something like this before. Since i have never delt with resin before, it may be something beyond me at this point. =/
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
Ive fixed stuff similar to this situation with krazy glue....but where its broke is bad as its a high stress area. The seller should have split it in two not sent it whole.
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
yea the high stress area is my worry too = /. both ends of the blaster are pretty heavy, so im pretty sure any glue would break with the weight. i'm not worried about the trigger gaurd as much, i can just make a new one of those or e6000 it.
i Did not buy it directly from MOW, but it is my understanding that it did come exactly how it is (except in one piece).
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
It was probably packed better from MOW.
I think where it is broken you may really want to use the pin method I mentioned. Maybe a couple pins, top and bottom.

Yea this is pretty close to the idea i had of putting in a metal dowel, but there isnt enough space. so this pin method may be my only / best option. Thank you

My blaster broke in that exact same spot, and let me tell you how I fixed it and made it stronger than it ever was before.
1. I took my dremel and cut a bunch of resin out of the two broken ends
2. Took a 1/8" drill bit and drilled a long bit into both ends to easily fit a 1/8" steel rod into both of the drill bit holes.
3. Mixed some JB Weld and filled in both areas, including the holes used for the drill bit, fit the steel rod into both holes and pressed it shut.
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
That sounds like exactly what I was thinking but I didn't know what adhesive to use. How long was the rod you used? What exactly did you trim with the dremel before drilling?
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
About half an inch, and the rod went into both ends about an inch.
The adhesive was JB Weld, that **** is so strong that it could glue an X-Wing to the ceiling.
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
You can buy it in the automotives section of Wal-Mart for about $4.

Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
I agree. JB weld is some strong stuff. I think you could put metal dowels in like has been mentioned and it would be strong enough to troop with. The trigger guard may just have to be superglued back in place. I have been using Zap a Gap that you can get at Michaels craft stores. It is really strong.
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
Get some little drill bits and do the JB Weld method using Paper Clip pieces. It will work, trust me :)
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
Should hear back from fedex soon. they may want to come inspect it before they pay the claim, so i cant fix it yet. but i will definately do the jb weld / paperclip method when i can. Thanks again =)
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
Will any of the parts come off the main pistol body? I think i have a pistol body laying around somewhere.

I know the butt stock is screwed on, I'll have to check the front portion. Anyone familiar with MOW resin EE-3 know the answer? If not I'll check tonight.
Again, thanks everyone for offering help / suggestions.
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
nope, all 1 piece, looks like i'll be jbweld and pinning it. still waiting on fedex to find out if they want to "inspect" it.
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
I can make you a trigger and trigger guard, so you dont have to glue those. Better to just grind them off me thinks.

That would be awesome.
shoot me a pm or email mightytank.at.gmail.com and let me know how much
Re: FedEx broke my blaster =(
mightytank: I feel for you. I would have been furious too.
This video shows just how much care is really given by some of those baggage handlers when the items are being loaded onto a plane. This is why it's always important to reinforce the packaging when items are being shipped. (Which apparently FEDEX didn't in this case.)
