New Hunter
I'm making an Iron Man costume, I'm making the "Classic red and gold" .

My Plan is to get a yellow znetai spandex suit like this one.

Then I want to make all the red pieces and just wear them over it.

Any ideas/tips for materials to use for the actual red armor pieces? I'm new to this.

I would poke around therpf.com. There's a wealth of knowledge amongst that crew. Most of the guys around here are building the new suits...or fett armor.

dude... you know this is a star wars / boba fett / jango fett board? we don't specialize in Iron Man stuff.... sorry :(

A prop nerd is a prop nerd. Why be picky? Besides, Jango Fett...really?! The sell out afterthought used as a "nod" in a series of garbage prequels? George Lucas is a tool and so are you for your trying to crack down on folks for trying to get some insight on a prop build that you don't care for.

girls, girls, you both is pretty.

you both make good points: this is a forum for the discussion of costumes, with a specialization on star wars; and in particular Boba, Jango, and Zam. however, there have been many non-star wars related threads on these boards in the past, including iron man, the joker, indiana jones (from time to time), etc. i don't think i've seen anyone completely discouraged from making any costume here in the past. techniques a member uses for one costume may end up benefiting the entire prop building community, that includes boba costumes. so the OP posting in the "prop building workshop" section, he is completely in the right to do so.

but as i stated, this is a costuming forum, not a flame board. all members are allowed to disagree with each other, just please refrain from doing so in such an inflammatory manner. we're (for the most part) adults here, lets keep the school yard name calling where it belongs, back at the school yard.

Sorry dude, that's the third time I've seen him post that same comment in someones build thread and it annoyed me to no end.

FLAMING on these forums is NOT tolerated. Clearly you didn't familiarize yourself with our CODE OF CONDUCT:

RESPECT

Treat others as you would like to be treated. Respect fellow members and their opinions. Respect must be extended to each and every member, the administrative staff included. Be polite and courteous to others and keep your messages in good taste.Disagreements are bound to happen. Approach them in a civil manner, with respect to the other person's point of view.Should you feel someone has crossed the line and is being disrespectful to you, contact a member of the administrative staff and allow them to handle the situation

FLAMING AND FLAME WARS
A "flame war" refers to "flaming," the practice of posting messages to a topic for the express purpose of criticizing, insulting, or otherwise attacking another member or group of members. Flaming and flame wars are prohibited.

Also, while we're at it, TDH does not condone profanity. You need to edit your signature block.

PROFANITY

The use of profanity is prohibited. For clarification on what qualifies as "profanity", please visit Wikipedia and search for “profanity” and “list of profanities” Profanity includes but is not limited to blasphemy (insults, slang or taking the name of a deity in vain), general insults and expletives, sexual insults or slang, and discriminatory insults or slang. Additionally, adding "@" or "#" or "$" or "%" or "*" or "-" or any other character in place of letters in curse words do NOT make those words acceptable to post. TDH has a profanity filter which will replace most inappropriate words with asterisks. Even though the word may not be visible, this does NOT make those words acceptable to post.

I suggest a change in attitude. Thank you.

When something annoys you, the right thing is to report it to the moderators, not to jump on it yourself.

Regardless of your stance on Jango Fett, the fact remains that the character is a core part of this board (see the dedicated section for Jango threads). Iron Man is, by definition, off topic.

To me, off-topic is anything having to do with something other than that sub-forums header.
But whether something is or isnt is at the discretion of the admin's and just because we may or may nit like something, it is ultimately their call.
And honestly a few iron man posts versus the entirety of the rest of fett-dom posting that are on here are minor at best. Just because they are the current "hot" topics doesnt mean that they are diluting or usurping our board. I personally feel its a kinda nice to have a wider community that might one day branch off and they we could say "Those were our brothers who paved the way" or they could say "Those people kicked us out".

Just a thought.

Besides the Iron man dudes are here because they want all the Jango Rub-n-buff secrets...lol

I'm just curious...why join this site if you're not a Starwars fan?

Thanks for contributing to our site!

While our members have a wide range of interests, this site is focused on Star Wars costuming and specifically on Star Wars bounty hunters like Boba Fett. In an effort to maintain this focus we are closing this thread... but all is not lost!

We have an affiliate site, run by the same people who run TDH where you content would be more than welcome! This site is the the Replica Prop Forum, a site dedicated to all props, costumes, and models. Please consider registering and posting your non-Star Wars content there!

Does this mean we don't want you here at TDH? Not at all! We would love for you to continue to participate here but would ask that you move any non-Star Wars content to the RPF!
