Chest armor display

Does anyone have some info on the sequences of the chest display? My buddy and I are working up a PCB for a new chest display but I am not sure what the sequence should look like. Also what is the sequence for the range finder and what color are the LEDs and the exact size of the armor cutouts?
Thanks for the help and who knows if they look good maybe I'll sell a few. I'll post pics once the board is done.

Here is my quote from another thread with the same questions:

There are several threads that covers this area for you.
Here is my thread ==> ESB Chest Display Sequence
This is mauricemeyer's thread ==> Chest Display Project
Fettronics (chest display builder) ==> Fettronics Light Boards

And here is a file with the chest display measurements:

The LEDs on the rangefinder are red and the only active sequence can be seen in the Supertrooper footage. Here is my thread with some useful Supertrooper files ==> Supertrooper Footage - New Link on starwars.com

You can see the LED sequence when Ben Burtt tilt the rangefinder in horizontal position.

I hope it helps!

Thanks for that. Now is there a definitive list of what the symbols are on the segmented LEDs as the board goes through the cycles?
And my painter had your templates and as soon as she is finished with my brother's guitars, im giving her my bucket once it is trimmed and the visor is cut out.

I can't wait until by bucket gets started, hopefully it will look awesome.

There are no logical meanings of the chest display characters.

Can't wait to see the final result of the paint job!

I looked at your other posts that you referred to and the board is going to be a little trickier than I thought to get it to show the correct symbols, but I should be able to make the board. If my buddy and I can get one working I'll post some pics.
I would also like to say thanks to you for all the work you have put in on this forum, without it most of us would be in way over our head.

Sorry to step in- I am about to begin a Bobba Fett build for the 501st, but I have not built Fett before. I would love to know what the chest plates are attatched to. From reference shots, it looks like they are sewn into a shirt. Please help me! :[

The plates were bolted onto the vest. I know two members here posted threads on bolted armor attachment. Look for stormtrooperguy and BooBooFett.

Essentially you anchor bolts to the back of the armor and cut slits into the vest in which to pass them through... secure with a nut on the back of the vest.

Dont forget to use grommets on those holes so the bolts dont just rip through the vest!

Hey Jc...Fettronics does a great board and can do any sequence you like. He has a neat lil program on his site where you can set up each step just by clicking which part of the character you want lit.

I did a crapload of research, and then matched my findings with what Rafal did and came up with a 5 step one im happy with. Fettronics actually reprogrammed my board for free! Jon (Fettronics) is a great guy to work with, and is fast!

I think it may be easier to go this route..but if you really wanna do your own, thats pretty awesome also.

If you want i can post a video of mine in action, so you can see what i did for mine,LMK!
