C3PO !!!! MY FIRST PART EVER !!!!

This is it !!! my first one!!!



....but i still have to improove.

As some of you know.. i bought from Fettpride the molds to build C3PO´s...

I have never done anything related to gelcoat or fiberglass.... but hey... here is my first ever fiberglass piece!!!


I think that it is too thin, but i gave two coats of gelcoat, and two layers of fiber.....


Ahh, and i have to cut and trim the edges...

But it looks fantastic to me !!!!!

Which edges do you want rounded? Internals?

I mean the edge of the part... all around the part (gosh...how difficult it is to explain it !!)

I'm new to this and have yet to try my hand at fiberglass. How was your first time? What prior experience did you have with other materials?

did you buy the molds for FP?? if so i might be interested in a full suit. somehting to work on anyways.

i havent got the other molds, but they are on its way...

I'm building an RA-7 Droid and need a chest and shoulder bell assembly. As soon as you've got some parts for sale let me know. I'm already having the helmet manufactured as a rapid prototype one off through a friends company in France. I'm aiming for a finished build in fall 2010.

Hello Alfredo,

I think you can use a dremmel with a sanding piece to clean the edges. You have two options: the brownish and hard tool (the one shown here http://hacknmod.com/wp-content/old/pics/6073-1.jpg) or the white cotton-like discs (http://www.ferrearies.com/images/dremel_.jpg shown on the right).
