Go for sintra. Unless you know what to do with aluminum sheeting, you will probably not be able to work with it. It can cut you with jagged edges, it is also a lot harder to cut.
Sintra is easy to cut and you can easily work with it. No ball and hammer involved here.
not to mention the complex curves in the armor... getting that out of metal takes a lot more skill than i have :)
ok thanks =). this helps alot. im probably gonna go pick up the materials next weekend. ill porbably be posting with more questions!
what thickness would be the best/easiest to work with? and does anyone know about how much i would need to buy?
2'x4' would be enough, but I'd recommend getting 4'x4' since this is your first go at it. Might need extra material.
Go for 3mm or 1/8".
aight thanks dude. more questions/ progress posts to come

I decided on this as the main color scheme for my armor. what do you think? i also think i might just go with the trashcan for the material. thoughts?
grey= battle damage. on right shoulder pauldron i was thinking to just cut that section off, make it look blown off.
this is the colors
all right so i have all the stencils/templates cut out of cardboard, which i then bent into the right shapes and curves. When i get the sintra, should i cut out the pieces and lay them over the cardboard to shape them? suggestions?
