I'm offering full size and half scale versions of a box kit to build your own HiC.
check out therpf for my reputation, and for the thread I'm running there too.
box uses ckings dimensions, angled sides at the proper 85.5º angle, and a cutout to match the new volvo side panels.

Here is a link to that thread on the rpf:
I'm building a Han in Carbonite and have access to a large CNC wood cutter
called a ShopBot that is a mile from my house and easy to use. It will cut out
the boxes perfectly. I've created plans using the blueprints online to make my
own box using the software provided with a ShopBot, based on the designs
available online. I've changed some things for the better. Mostly they're
tweaks to aid in construction but nothing to change the appearance. One change
is that I've matched the side hole cutouts to fit the new volvo panel. Another
is to add little tabs in the pieces so they fit together easily. I may even add
in the holes where you're supposed to drill in screws so they are countersunk.
The point of this is to do most of the hard work/wood working that most people
dont have access to.
I'll be using MDF 1/2" thick and cutting out the front, side panels and top and
bottom. I just wanted to let you guys know this is happening, and wanted to
gauge interest. I'm not sure the weight or shipping costs, but my estimate is
around 35 pounds for the left, right, top, bottom panels, and front border
panel. In order to save on shipping costs, I can offer the side panel split into
two, and the front split into 4, but it is possible to have them together, or
not even include the front panel at all.
The kits will go together quite nicely. I plan to chamfer the corners so the
box's angles go together with ease. I haven't done it yet so I'm sure I'll learn
a bunch putting the first one together.
I'll be making one for myself first, posting pics, and documenting progress. I
don't know all the costs yet since I need to have a finished wood kit to box up
and take to the post office/UPS to figure out shippping, and I need to know how
long it takes to put a kit together to determine costs to ship.
I literally just did this yesterday and the day before, so I'm sure more awesome improvements and better pics and information are to come.
My current plans are to include 12 pieces of wood and a box of screws.
Parts will include cutout left panel, cutout right panel, cutout top panel,
cutout bottom panel, left front border panel, right front border panel, top
front border panel, bottom front border panel, and a 2x4 cut into four 8" long
sections to place in each corner, plus a bunch of screws.
The large front trapezoid panel will not be included since it is so large,
heavy, and not so complicated to reproduce out where you are. My suggestions
include cutting that part from wood by hand, or get a piece of sintra and
reinforce it. There is a large error allowance on this part since its edges are
hidden behind the border pieces on the front panel.
My estimates put shipping at around $70 assuming the box is 6"x10"x82" and the
weight of 50 pounds. I've found a box with these specs. I dont see a need to
share the math for the weight calculation, but 50lb is a good enough rough guess
and is on the high side, and I know it won't weigh more than that. The pieces
will fit into the 6x10x82" box.
Once I get a fullsize kit together, I'll take pics post that, box one up and get more
accurate shipping quotes. my rough plans are posted on therpf thread but i
can't post it here right now. I'm just offerning an opportunity for those of you who
want wood precut, dont want to bother with going to a local CNC person, and want
to pay less than the CNC guy would probably charge you anway.
