I would like to form an interest list for a McQuarrie Concept Boba Fett Chest/Back armor combo (not the backpack).

Oops, We is Ithica and Cyrus Rang (me) from the Mercs boards. Ithica is a very skilled prop builder and I am in charge of research and pimping these bad boys out. aka Advertisement. :D
I am based out of SoCal and Ithica is from Texas (where these will be shipped out of)

I'm be in, as I've already got the helmet. Wish I'd have seen this before this weekend I'd have talked to Ithica about it when I saw him this weekend.

Looks like we have enough interest to start this build (There is still room for more if you want in). Ithica and I will discuss production cost and possible pricing. We'll get back to you all ASAP

materials... we are thinking about molding them and casting them out of resin for strength. Updates as they come.

Update... The Chest and back will be made in a fashon that will allow the buyer to "clamshell" the two pieces over the body. :)

Sorry for the lack of updaes recently, the builder has been away at military training. I will update ASAP

Ithica had been backed up on projects due to training. And will be doing more training due to possible deployment but here are some updates he has. He has some smoothing and some details that need to be cleaned but it is almost ready for molding.

Will this fit a human? On that mannequins it looks really thin in the rib area.

This is ready for the 1st mold but Ithica needs to come up with the funds. We will know more of a final price once Ithica molds it and does the 1st pull to determine amount of materials required.

nice build - but 4 observations:

(1) minor detail of a recessed line running from the shoulders down the back plate - looks like it is missing?
(2) is the odd looking lower end of the back plate sculpted like on the GG bust?

(3) no clear views of the back plate are on the GG bust, but on the toy - it looks more like this

(4) what are the plans for the 'wings' shoulder pads?

I can add this detail on every cast. I don't want to remold due to a line I can dremel in. I did not notice this line based on the imagery I used.

(2) is the odd looking lower end of the back plate sculpted like on the GG bust?
I used the toy reference for the lower half of the baclplate and not the GG Bust.

(3) no clear views of the back plate are on the GG bust, but on the toy - it looks more like this...
I used this more for the backplate. The top center cut out is not seen with the Jetpack but can be cut out of each cast very easily if a Jetpack is not used.

(4) what are the plans for the 'wings' shoulder pads?
Due to most of the master being clay it was to difficult to do the wings but now I will cast a resin one and build the wings on it that will be mounted as a kit.


Ok here we go, I got some more progress. First we finished the rubber mold, then we prepped for the mother mold and now the mold is finished. So here I sit for the next 2 days waiting for plastic to come in to make the first cast (dirty pull) and see how it looks.

Ithica has the 1st pull done but due to the mannequin having posing issues, there are some small adjustments that need to be made.

Chest and back have been seperated and cleaned. Now it is time to extend the connecting points and make them ready for vac forming.

I am very interested great work so far

Ok it has been quite some time for updates but we are still working on it. I want these to be the best they can be. I extending the sides of the chest and did some more detailing and fine tuning to include sanding more. I also changed the detail to angle more on the left shoulder the way it should. I am done with the chest so now it is time to fine tune the back. Once that is done I just have to close off all the open areas to make it ready for vac forming.

Will chest and back armor work for big guys 48" to 50" chest, 40 " waist, 21" neck, height 5'10" to 6 ft.

Looks amazing! Very excited about this as I just received my McQuarrie concept bucket this week and I'm itching to get started on it.

It will be adjustable to an extent. I am average buid being 5 9 195. I added more to the sides and top so it will fit larger people but it can also be cut down on the sides and top where they connect for smaller people as well.

I am truely sorry this has come up. I am so close but was litteraly told less than 30 days out that I am deploying. I had to get money to get my parents down here and I need to make a trip to colorado to see my daughters so time is very limited now. I shall return to finish this beauty.

Ok new update. The chest and back will be sent to a good friend of mine (Conrad) and he will spend time finishing it instead of it sitting for 9 months. He has alot of other projects so he will work on it at his pace but at least it will be continude. It is in great hand with Conrad.
