Can anyone who has one (or asok) tell me how much one of these weighs?
I have not weighed mine specifically but they are not extremely heavy. They have a good feel to them. I am at work tonight but if no one answers I will put mine on the scales tomorrow afternoon and tell you what I get.
i weighed the box i shipped today box and finished helmet 4.9 lbs its not heavy
Ever figure out a full resin kit yet? I'll be interested in taking the "test" copy if all goes well with it.
WHOOHOO! Got my notice from Asok and sent payment today! Can't wait!!
Got mine today , great helmet, and such a cool guy to deal with , he runs it like a business
Got one of his Jango's and one of FP's...may need to grab one of these for the boy if he decides to scrap his lobster tail back and go with a less flexible, yet more traditional bucket. Nice to see you got the molds. Was hoping someone that did good work would and I ain't disappointed.
Small update, yes I can do them in all resin. I am hoping on Sunday I will be able make this helmet
More photos can be found here Super Trooper
Awesome work big B,
Love that lid (posted) feel free to post me a Ali 'prototype' and I'll see what I can do...
What will the all resin buckets run?
I put a post up here http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/f23/t...-helmet-41788/ of my experiment.
Just wanted to say i got mine today and it is BEAUTIFUL!! A very clean, sturdy, lightweight cast. If any of you are on the fence about buying this, don't hesitate! It is worth it!

Wanted to show this off. This is with #0 steel wool followed by #0000 wool.
Told ya really easy to shine it up with steel wool...
I was surprised!! This is my first Cold Cast anything and when the metal started to appear it was like magic! Just bummed the clear coat will probably dull it a bit. Gonna use a satin clear to seal it first.
Yeh it shouldnt be to much though...ur gonna wanna get to work on the visor area it took me a bit of work to get it done
Cutting you mean? Yeah, that will probably be the next step before any painting. I guess I am a bit nervous to do it. The plan is dremel and a very thin exacto-saw blade!
Yeh....that should work well...some files should be on ur list too.
Darth Veach and Jinto...very nice work on those so far
Hey Asok, I just received my helmet today. Great work on these ! It arrived in perfect condition. I know that Chris (FP) does awesome work. I own both a budget helmet cast made by FP and now yours. I like the way that you really piled on the resin making your cast quite thicker and heavier. Nice ! Thanks for continuing on with this project and offering these to the community. And thanks to Chris (FP) for getting your mold to someone that could carry on your outstanding work. You ARE appreciated, brother. Thanks again.
