    Jul 2, 2014, 2:03 PM - Any Interest in Interior Kits #1

    Hi everyone,

Im toying with the Idea of producing some interior kits, just wanna get a good response this time prior to build as my ESB Sidearms weren't as successful as anticipated,
I have reconstructed on CAD the riddelle interior with a few minor modifications, these will be 3D printed utilizing flexifil a plastic filament with some flex in it,

Just curious - I thought the interior of the helmet was just foam and electronics. How did we find out about this design? Any history behind it or is it just fan made? Looks awesome IMO.

Would this be best suited for a display helmet? Would probably be uncomfortable to troop in.

This isnt fan made really...it was made by riddel many years ago...they did a smal scale helmet and that was the interior they made up for the helmet.

Yeah thats correct Fett, I used the blueprints from Riddel, I don't think it will be uncomfortable as the parts are soft, but have to wait and see

Its more for show...people have made these before. Its not easy fitting your head in there with the extra stuff.

Might be interested in a set. I assume a abs print is more rigid, does that mean the detail is sharper too? I don't troop, only have my helmets for display so don't need a soft set. Could you do a few in abs?

Yeah can do abs but they will be better in flexifil this means they bend with the shape of the helmet but still sharp

If they are soft (ish) I would be interested, also pending on price and size (if we could do measurements after installation to ensure my head fits).

Because I would be trooping with it, I'll probably have to cut up certain points for battery access, fans, extra padding, etc.

If it doesn't turn out, or you have some B grades, I'd be interested in those as well.

PM saent to dansam. I am asking him if he wants to partner up on these. Who would be interested in HIS cad design of the riddell, but in my soft foam/rubber that I do my interiors with?

My cad designs aren't done yet. Its been almost a year and I have only modelled the back piece. Seems like a great time to get the riddell version out there.
