Zam Comparison Shots

Bout the gloves, I can't sew very well yet, so I don't think I would be trying to sew them from scratch anytime soon (seeing as how I had to borrow my mom-in-law's sewing machine and need more practice). Go ahead and spill your beans on a glove thread (there's one here somewhere). It is definately not just "manufactured or found." I have had tons of people turn me down about that when I asked around for a glove maker too. I have to fix my vest first before considering those.

Thanks Baddblood :D Warm fuzzies. Oh Wook and Dal~ big noogies. :p :evil I just wanted to bask in the "job well done" catagory for a tad longer, before she gets chonicled into the "need a massive upgrade program," err whatever...cause you all know, you can't just use a "honey-i shrunk the kids machine" I would have to start from scratch. :cry OR-anyone use alginate before? I wonder if I could like shrink it that way? Hmmm...

Awww... ZIA.. *hugs!* Love your costume and you know it chickie!! :D You've got the ultimate Zam costume right now! At least until some of us get further along!

Sure there are always little thing that could be fixed... we could nit-pic this to death! But overall... I still say you have one awesome costume! Greebs and all! :D

I know a method for making a shrinking silicone mold.

Contain your item in the usual manner. mix your silicone and catalyst. Then add mineral spirits(amount varies depending on amount of shrink desired). Pour your "thinned" silicone into the container with the item. After the mold cures, remove from container, and remove item from mold. Allow mold to sit out in the open for a week or so. As the mineral spirits evaporates from the mold, the mold shrinks. I have not perfected the shrink ratio yet, so it's still a guessing game, at this point.

Dude! gotta try that. Muhahah! Crap, gotta do the straps first! Priorities priorities... UGh! But... the mineral spirits doesn't leave like airbubles in the mold? and just shrinks? WOW. I have heard of that water based stuff that enlarges a product by 60% but not shrinking stuff before. That is WAY cool. You rock! Hopefully I can have Zam I Ain't tinker with that sometime soon. I will let you know how it turns out.
(Zam I Am does a little happy dance)
I Love you all :love (and gives everyone a granny pinch on the cheek).

Another thing....I'm not sure how this method affects mold life/durability, so cast an archive piece, just in case the mold heads south before it's time. :D

 I had so many archive pieces from the last set of molds, I could have decorated my tree with Zam Greebs.

Yah, I understood whatcha meant ;) It's just funny how many archives I have already--My basement is becomming a heap'o'greebs, and leather.

I'm thinking I love the Zam greeb ornaments. Only if you use shiny (sparkly) paint, though...

hehehe- heap'O'greebs.... Yvonne is Queen of the Heap'O'Greebs!!!

I'm way overly amused by this, I think it's bedtime.

If you get too many greebs, you can send some my way. :love I'm just starting the long journey of putting a Zam outfit together for my wife.
