    Zam Body Suit Patterns

Well... it seems a number of us are sewing the suits ourselves and are looking for Zam body-suit patterns.

Post your choices here and list any alterations you made to help the next Zammer along!

If you want a two-piecer suit, Green pepper makes patterns for racing pants and a racing top (#406 & #401 respectively). They also have a one piece racing suit (I don't have the number for that one, sorry), but, um... not very convenient in the 'washroom' department. :-) I ordered mine through Denver fabrics

I actually used a pattern for sweat/workout suit...it came with pants, sweatshirt, and multiple other versions like tank tops ect...with minor alterations to the pattern it worked great....I think it was McCalls...but i know ive got the actual pattern in my thread...

    Re: Zam Body Suit Patterns

For the top I used New Look Pattern 6160 (Subsidiary of Simplicity Patterns).

I used view A... of course Alterations included:

    1) Adding welt seam to the sleeves by cutting the sleeve pattern in half and adding 1/2" on each side of the cut for the welt seam.

    2) Cropping the top, above the bustline in front, but lower in the back for comfort. Long enough to secure sleeves on sides.

    3) Shorten the sleeves by taking out the hem allowance and adding a simple fabric type strip to the end.

I finished making a muslin out of some leftover material that has about the same stretch as the neoprene fabric.

    Now... onto the pants!

I also used a Simplicity pattern for the crop top. It's number 4023 view A. It's almost identical to Maul's pattern and they had it at my local boondock walmart.
