Hey gang!
I started this Zam/Clawdite sculpt aloong time ago and decided to start over and finally finish it.
Your constructive critisizm is appreciated. I did this sculpt last nite. About 2 1/2 hours work. Still needs alot of work. It needs to look more female like, maybe reduce the jaw and nose some. Thoughts??
Once finished, it will be molded and a wearable latex mask will be made.
I'm working from just the dvd screen cap. Not alot to go by.
This likeness is more challenging than i thought it would be, but then again i trying to capture a CG character in clay. Guess you could say it reverse enginieering it.
Would there be any interest in something like this if i can have ready before CV?

That's pretty cool! I don't think anyone ever thought of making that! LOL There was the one on the "Bobble-Head" doll... I think there is an image in one of the books - it might have some details you can use. But the screen cap probably is the most helpful. I can imagine that it is difficult... Is it for wearing or display only would be my first question. If for wearing I have a couple of questions....

Question: Eyes - would the wearer see through holes in the mask, or would they wear contacts?

Question: How does the mask blend into the edges? Ears? jawline?

Pretty cool looking.

Thanks MaulMaus for kudos.
It is definitely intended for wearing with a Zam costume.
To address your first question: As for the eyes i think the clawdite eyes are bigger than human eyes so it will have holes cut in the center for seeing. If anyone is worried about someone seeing their real eyes inside the mask you can just add some thin black mesh or black hose material behind the holes. The nose holes and a small mouth slit will also be cut for better air circulation and drinking water/soda or even the intergalactic blue milk:) This is how the Tusken Raider masks are done. I may cut thin slits in her gills as well. You can never have enough air circalation:)
As for your 2nd question the mask is designed with an elastic band to go around the back of the wearers head and tuck in around/under the Zam helmet.
And doesn't the neck of the costume come up pretty high around the neck? I figured if the neck show any one could just get a thin piece of spandex material and make a clawdite colored neck seal type deal. So it shouldn't leave much or any of the wearers visible.
The design of this mask will look alot like the old fashion masks when we were kids. Easy on and off.
The mask will be cast in black latex and painted to match the screen caps.
If you get a second please check the EP2 dvd and give your feedback on the sculpt thus far,its much appreciated!
Later!
Goldenrod

My wife and I are planning on doing this eventually and doing our own sculpt for her face. As far as constructive criticism goes, I'd say that overall the face looks too "manly." The cheekbones need to be lowered, the eyes enlarged and rotated so the outside of the eye is lower than the inside of the eye. Also, the nose should be rounded out a bit. The lips need to be bigger and more feminine.
The below promo shot shows best what the face looks like fully transformed.

The mold is curing as i write this post:)

The next pic will be of the latex mask!
At this point i would like to start an interest list.

The price for a ready to wear mask will be $75 shipped in the US.

Again this will be a latex wearable mask for you Zam'ers! The mask will have an elastic strap across the back of the head.
There will be holes cut in the pupils, mouth slit, and nose holes. It will be very easy to take on and off. And easily stored on your body if you choose to not wear all the time at the those intergalactic gathers:)

Okay so base on the pic of above who is interested?

1. Shiruba
2.
3.
4.
5.
Once i have a mask painted/finished i will close this thread and start a new forsale thread in the Cargo Hold!
