interesting...the ovary bit looks very close to the same size as the ones i made for Jamie...the other parts are close as well...i did good
love to know how you come upon these things!![]()
though i'm not much of a zammer (suit just wouldn't look right on me!), i think it's awesome that you got hold of those, and much much awesomer that you posted clear pics of them with size reference! that's something really rare in this world.
Wow! Where did you get those?!
I don't think the ones used on-screen were cold cast - I think I remember hearing an interview or something with Leeanna Walsman and she said the worst part was the (as she called them) ovary bits kept breaking and they would have to reshoot that scene again.
Very cool.Leanna Walsman is hardly a large person
So it figures the parts would be tiny! That's what struck me at the FIDM exhbit as well. These don't look as "dirty" or "used" as those either.
The ones used on screen were cold-cast and so are these. Cold-Cast has nothing to do with them breaking. Cold-Cast means they have aluminum filler mixed into the resin. The reason they may have kept breaking is because rather than each ovary bit being cast as one piece, they were cast in two halves. The backside of that ovary bit I posted is flat.
Oh, I thought that them being cold cast would have made them stronger...
It doesn't really affect the properties of the resin that much, except it may be a little more brittle. Anyway, Dressing a Galaxy says they used aluminum filler on some of Zam parts (mixed in with some purple pigment).
Oh yeah, forgot to mention. I also have a plain toe spike. I didn't post any pictures cuz I didn't think it was too big of a deal but I can get a picture up if you guys want one.
Well it seams that I found the right place with perfect timing
Are you gonne sell these parts?
For those asking, I would like to quietly share the wealth eventually...
Give it some time though.
So, here's a pic of the toe spike for now.

Those are awesome. I'd love to compare them with the pieces I've made and see how close I came!![]()
You told me about these last night but it's so cool to see the pictures now
You know I am so interested once you are willing to share the wealth.
I would also be interested in quietly sharing the wealth. pleeeaaasee. My wife would have a heart attack![]()
I'm studying for the bar over the next two months, but hopefully I'll be able to share shortly.
So its almost time to share these... But one thing I had to do first was sculpt the matching handplate since I only had the left one. What do you think?

I think it looks perfect!
Looks good. Can't wait to see more.
Looks great!
Those look fantastic!Looking forward to seeing your progress on all these goodies!
Those interested, please PM me. I have some information and I'd also like to start getting an idea of how many people are interested.
Here are some rough trimmed castings. Note the Ovary bits come "pre-cut" for easy assembly.
For anyone who's ready for them, I'm ready!

Here are some of the parts finished up with rub n buff and acrylic weathering:

Good job brother! Those are looking really nice!!!
Todd
Thanks. Here are the ovary bits connected to ZamIAm's Horseshoe piece:

Awesome weathering job - and the purple highlights are great too!
Thanks. The purple is something I had on hand and it really turned out great. It's "Metallic Amethyst" and its an acrylic paint made by FolkArt. It really gives the feel that there's purple mixed in like the real things, rather than just being painted on.
Those castings look great, a shame I am selling my Zam stuff, or I would have been up for a set.
Good luck
Wendy
Wow, those look fantastic!!!
PM sent.
For those interested, I now have thumb guards to go along with this kit. Although they are not screen cast, they are based on the screen cast hand guards. If you already got a kit from me and would like thumb guards, PM me.
Are more of these being cast? When I bought my stuff I was told everything was included...unfortunately parts were missing.
Let me know, Thanks!
Yes I can still offer some castings. I make some other non-screen cast stuff as well, so if you are missing other parts I might have it too.
I'm pretty much interested in castings of these particular pieces, since Martha (my wife) wants BADLY to do a Zam costume. Any info will be really appreciated via PM. THANKS.![]()
****. I would really like a set of these but money has fallen shot of me these days. Quick question though, can these parts be cast in black? Also, how much would a set be?
Thanks!![]()
