Neoprene under suit-second batch?

Got the notice in my box that said the material is here. Need to pop over tomorrow during business hours to actually pick it up.
I am so excited!

FREE AT LAST! FREE AT LAST, THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, I AM FREE AT LAST!!!

well, sorta...pending all the shipments get received ok. I mailed out the last batch today, and the rest of the overseas people should be getting an email soon! Yay! Thank you SEVEN for recognizing the humongosity of the project. There was like a problem with every single vendor I dealt with on this run, except for where I got the long boxes from. The bubblewrap company didn't ship enough, the neoprene co, enough said, the dyeing co had some issues and timing, and dealing with my own stupidity of estimating the weight wrong on most of the packages. Don't worry guys if you see the shipping cost and notice the difference, you won't have to owe me anything, I just am HAPPY to get it out. Pray over your packages folks, I am just so relieved that I can get back to paying more attention to my son.

Yay! Thank you again a million times over for doing this :) It was so generous of you to spend your time on all aspects of arranging and ordering this neoprene run so that the rest of us Zam-wanna-bes can actually have some high quality fabric in the right color!

Zam you WILL be, Zam you WILL be...
Or, Zams you ARE...

wow, it's late, I am getting seriously slap happy for y'all...

Woohoo!

It's here! (Its been here for a week but that's another story)

Yvonne, from me and Becky, x! Thanks lots :)

I think it's spot on with you and is fairly easy to work with (according to my local seamstress anyway )

Can I ask an urgent favour from the current Zams out there please.

Can I have a photo of your inner purple suit pieces please.
On or off you it's ok. PM or email john.danter@btinternet.com please :)

My local seamstress has quoted me £50 to do this for Becky and has already worked out how to do the seams for me.

Picked up the box on Friday and it's sitting on the library floor at the moment. Haven't been able to open it up yet..too much "help" from the little ones and we weren't home almost all weekend. The box seems to have bent a little in the middle at some point, but not in a way that looks like it would have damaged anything. I'm going to try to open it up tonight after Jon gets home from work to check it out and pull out the greeblies so I can get to painting them.
Need to finish the taxes so I can get that money back into our bank and not the IRSs and order all my bits from MonCal now :)

I can not thank you enough ZamIam for doing this material run for us and allowing me to tack myself into it! I know I would have never gotten this far without it. It was my "start button" to finally get going.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

Yeah Zam I Am, i just wanna enphersize what John andeveryone else has said. Thank you so much for doing this run. I remember missing the very frst run and nearly missing this one too if it wasnt for John.

Now all i need is my leather, its going to be awesome!!!

If anyone does have any more pics if their suits it would be very helpfull for my seamstress. Im hoping to get measured asap, for the CE deadline is fast approaching lol!!!

Thanx again Zam I Am, you really made this costume a reality for lots of ppl

Well, I just wanted to say, Langsuir666, your posts prompted me to do the second run. You guys are most wholeheartedly welcome.

I have to think about my son and make him my #1 priority, cause I have seen quite a difference when I am away from the computer instead of posting/replying to emails. I am sorry, but will be backing off on replying to more zam questions for awhile. It's been unfair to my son. I have also always wanted to fix my own costuming stuff, and with all the time spent on the comp with emails/what-not, I am not doing what I need to for my own stuff. My fourth procedure (non-surgical) for my other eye needs to be done too. So...I am glad to finaly have the neoprene monkey off my back, so that I can devote my time to other things. Thank you all for being so supportive and trusting. I hope you all get your costumes done for whatever event you plan for.

Good luck with everything hun, family and health are very important!!! You know i cant say thanx enough! (y)

I had a dreeam last night i was in my Zam neoprene, the suit all made up. Hehehehehehe ..... hehehehe  hehehehehehehehe:lol:

For the following people, just wanted to know - is it in your clutches yet???
What I have down is what I gathered from the United states Postal service tracking.

Yep yep!!! Got mine! I was a little worried at first when I saw it because the box had broken in half and was sort of taped just to hold the two halves together. But.....all the greeblies on the inside were just fine and there was no marking on the neoprene!

Thanks so much ZIA!

So...I don't suppose anyone has decided they don't want their fabric and would like to get rid of it?

(The wife has finally decided she will do a Zam)

Yeah I saw the stretchhouse stuff. It's okay. It would do in a pinch. But this costume is a long project so my wife and I are still holding out for the custom neoprene.

I think I remember seeing a picture of ZIA next to the movie used suit and the neoprene she used was way too purple.

The sheen was awesome, but the color was off. :facepalm

EDIT: here's the thread - Post #23; http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/showthread.php?t=10631

It's really hard to eyeball those things, but either way she did put a lot of hard work into it.

That picture is incredibly misleading. The real Zam suit is in extremely warm lighting, while ZIA was not. I've seen the custom neoprene material in person and its much better than that picture shows. I've also seen the real Zam suit in person.

i agree that ZIA's material is most likely as close as you will get to the actual material...

as far as the post that its that guy is refering too...ZIA is standing next to a displayed ZAM costume, in the same lighting and it's way off in that shot...not sure if there is any trick lighting in that shot seeing as they are both present in the same room...unless she superimposed herself onto that shot?

*removed my opinions as it seem no one knows how to discuss things when they are not the same as thiers....*

good luck in your quest for that material as i really dont think it's gonna come around for some time...
